What do you think?
No one in this country would condone harming anyone else. However, in this scary and confusing time we are living in, people have grown tired of bad behavior and constant struggles.
When others appear to not care and are prospering at other people's expense, tensions rise and temper's are out of control.
The AIG Bonus scandal bounced across Washington this week, starting with Chris Dodd and ending up with Obama's Golden Boy of Money, Timothy Geithner.
We watched as the worms flipped and flopped with reasons why they decided to take the wording out of the Rescue Bailout that would prevent AIG or anyone else from getting bonuses....
My first question is why did Geithner have them take out these necessary rules? Did Obama know?
Millions of people who are fed up with Washington stood in lines after listening for two years, the message of HOPE and CHANGE. Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Non-Committed stood for a new government that was suppose to get it!
Yet, here we are with this AIG THING....What is wrong with these people? Not just AIG which of course is totally stupid. Why would you even TAKE the Bonuses? Do you have TV's? Of course you do? Don't you see people all over are struggling to feed their children? Yet you would take the money anyway?
I don't feel sorry for these people. I don't want them to get hurt, but when I look at my tool and die maker husband's unemployment check, after he has worked everyday for 33 years, I can't see the point in feeling sorry for people who are getting huge bonuses.
Then we have the Republicans who have made up their minds they are going to fight whatever Obama does. Right, wrong or indifferent, they are determined that he will not succeed. Even at the cost of America. Even if there is no America, 10 years from now. They are killing America for their own sakes.
The next STUPID bunch is the Timothy Geithner group and the Congress. First, Geithner should be strung up and beaten beyond consciousness. What the hell was he thinking or trying to do? Why did Dodd and the rest go along with it?
America is fed up with politics and games and bull... America is looking for something better.
This whole AIG thing is absolutely unnecessary and totally beyond the realm of common sense.
Hey AIG, why does the Government have to tax you to get the bonus money back? Are you stupid or really that greedy?
Just give the money back, stupid. Why do you even have to discuss it? You don't deserve it, so why did you even take it to start with?
Is America and the people who run this country going to wake up anytime soon? We are sinking into despair here folks.. This is not a TV program. This is real.
President Obama we stood in line and told you we trusted you. Did you really hear us? Are you going to be what you told us you would be? Or,was the whole thing just another political scam?
Congress, do you see what you are doing to America? Can you understand what is going on for real?
AIG and other big corporations, Do you see what is happening? Don't be scared of getting killed now. You have screwed us 7 ways from Sunday. Stand up and be proud of being crooks, like you were proud of sitting in those offices and taking those big checks for doing nothing.
America is so sad right now. We are headed for the rocks and nobody is manning their stations. We can only pray that somebody will actually wake up and take the wheel here. We thought it was going to be Obama.
Now we are forced to wonder and worry if we did the right thing. He seems to be on the same path as all of the other crazies we have sent to Washington.
We know it won't be the Republicans, whose main focus is making sure Obama fails. The American public can't fix it, they won't let us.
Common sense would say that with all of the supposed transparency and requests for comments and contributions, Obama's group would hear the America's outrage. It doesn't appear to be so. So now what?
Old fashioned thinking would dictate running them out of town on a rail or more drastic, a good ole fashioned tar and feather event.Hopefully, the violence will not win in this case. Even though that appears to be the only message anyone hears.

Post a CommentThese huge compensations to executives are called "bonuses," but they are actually hush money because these execuives know where all the bodies are buried. However, they do serve one useful purpose as a litmus test for politicians and other public officials. (1) If they defend then as legally binding contracts, then they are themselves bought and paid for. Why, if they are actually hush money, then they are contracts for an illegal purpose, i.e., to conceal a crime, and they then are un-enforceable. Any first year law student knows that. (2) If they base their outrage on the fact that they are getting these bonuses while millions of Americans are out of work and losing their homes, then their sanity much be questioned because the real outrage is that they are not outraged by the coverup these payouts have paid for. One official who is in charge of BP compensation payouts to those harmed by the BP oil disaster actually commented that these "bonuses" were earned. If he meant earned
The only scandal involved in the AIG bonuses was the fact that our Congress and President forced through this legislation without bothering to read it. Maybe if there were a competent individual in the bunch, we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with.
Furthermore, AIG is under no obligation to return the money. Doing so would have been illegal and a breach of contract. So as much as it might calm the illiterate mobs, it really isn't something that is reasonable.
Calm down, Rose....lol. I think that we need to give Obama a little bit of time here. He has expressed as much outrage as we "average" Americans have expressed at the AIG bonuses. I do think Geithner seems rather uncharismatic and not very dynamic during his presentations, initially, but I'm not hanging him out to dry quite yet. I do enjoy reading your fiery pieces, though, Rose! I'm glad to see that you're not asleep at the wheel, at least.
Problem was, the entire bailout of a global corporation, whose financial difficulties actually lie with their London home office in Mayfair, was fraud and collusion on the part of the Congressmen (including Obama) and Bush Administration to begin with. The rest has been pure political spin in order to cover up their Constitutional violation at it's inception. And most, I'm sure, will be receiving some of those bonuses now back in campaign contributions. Washington is thoroughly corrupt, that's for sure....
Great write up.
