AIG is Trying to Pay Bonuses with Taxpayer Funds
Insurance Carrier AIG 80% Owned by the Taxpayers is Seeking Executive Bonuses Worth $2.4 Million
Bonuses are suppose to be paid for building a profitable business for the stockholders not a revenue grab by those greedy executives that are addicted to the gravy train of handout bonuses.
Kenneth Feinberg has a lot on his plate as he has to control pay at GM, Chrysler, Citibank, and others that received billions in taxpayer funds to stay afloat. How bizarre that AIG who had congress, the President and the taxpayers up in arms last fall over this issue would have the gall to ask for more.
So far Mr. Feinberg has not responded and AIG doesn't need his permission but they are trying to stay out of the firestorm of public sentiment by playing the political game of pass the buck. Where is Harry Truman when you need him?
According to the NY Times, "Christina Pretto, an AIG spokeswomen declined to comment. Mr. Feinberg couldn't be reached for comment." Everyone is playing hot potato just like politicians do when they know they are in a no win situation.
These bailout babies as they are called around the world have their work cut out to convince anyone they deserve any bonus of any type. I think the taxpayers have been pushed to the limit and we could see widespread dissatisfaction in the streets just like in other nations.
Congressmen and women had better think twice before they side with the bailout babies. The politicians of both parties are on thin ice as the American taxpayer's unhappiness is growing everyday and will soon reach a point of no return.
Can you blame the taxpayer for being mad as Main Street can't get loans, they struggle with businesses and their lives and retirement plans are in shambles?
What is AIG thinking? They must be the stupidest group of individuals on the planet to think they deserve a bonus. Sorry, but it makes me laugh to think that they believe they should be paid more at the expense of the American taxpayer.
I hope someone at AIG reads this article and sends me an email defending it. I could use a really good laugh.

Post a CommentDidn't bonuses used to be for exemplary service and not for running a company in to the ground? Great blog. Another good blog on this subject I just read is http://newsy1.wordpress.com
