Aimless Soul

Kimberly Buck
Aimless impressions of the world
Seem to have me caught in a bind
I can't help but ponder why it strains my eyes
Why it entertains my mind
Precious is this life or so I'm told
For to be able to distinguish pain from pleasure
Heartfelt thanks to the artist so bold
Oblivious mind that seeks my divine
Cheers to God's joy in redeeming my anguished soul

Aimless wandering that leaves me cold
Leave me with a feeling of thaw
Hardened heart full of nothing
Leave me still wondering

Highest bidder gets to heaven
While I stumble, I fall, I lie down and cry
Pennies won't do for heaven's sake
Spiritual awakenings don't come from the sky
Heart racing, tears falling, all alone in this hole
If God is true, won't he save my anguished soul?
