Air Canada to Offer Non-Stop Service to Australia

SJD
For those who have travelled to Australia in the past you will vividly remember the long flight. In recent years depending on your city of departure Air Canada has had at least one stop before arriving in Sydney, New South Wales Australia. When departing from Vancouver, BC this stop often occurred in Honolulu. However, as we all know these stops can add many extra hours onto an already long flight.

Now there is good news for those thinking of making the trip to the Land Down Under! Effective December 14th, 2007 Air Canada will begin offering direct flight between Vancouver, British Columbia and Sydney, Australia located in the state of New South Wales. The lead line is that Air Canada will now be the only Airline offering non-stop service between Canada and Australia.

This new service will save the traveller at least three hours compared to the old route through Honolulu. Of course three hours may not sound like much now, but when you're on that plane those three hours can seem like a lifetime. Not to mention the fact that you can avoid the whole nuisance of having to exit the plane while they refuel the aircraft. At midnight, this is never popular.

For those of you who are not located in Vancouver don't despair! Air Canada promises convenient connections to Vancouver no matter wherever you are in Canada. It is the Air Canada message that they will get you to Australia faster no matter wherever your Canada location is.

In celebration of Air Canada's 70th year they added the Boeing 777 to their already impressive fleet. The Boeing 777 was added to the Air Canada fleet in April of this year with seventeen brand new aircrafts, and will be the aircraft used for the new direct flight between Vancouver and Australia.

A Couple Highlights of the New Boeing 777:

· More Room as in headroom, wider aisles, larger windows, and larger seats

· Extra overhead storage

· Advanced angled and private pods in the Business Class section, and even a self-serve stand up bar

· Personal entertainment for each seat on the aircraft with your choice of TV, film, and audio, which you can pause, rewind, or play again at your leisure.

· Power plugs to charge your laptop en route

· The engines are the largest commercial jets ever built

· Mood lighting which is guaranteed to keep you in sync with the changing time zones and reduce your jetlag

· Specifically designed for non-stop long distance travel

December 14th is only a few short months away. So, if you are planning on making the trip to Australia remember that soon there will be a brand new service, which will add that extra bit of convenience to what could be the trip of a lifetime!
