Airline Terror Attack

Wow Ya Think

Richard Block
President Obama has ordered a review of security screening processes after Friday's botched terror attack on a U.S. airliner, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday. Well isn't that just swell, its not as if anyone couldn't get explosives aboard an airplane if they wanted to.

And lets not forget that everyone who should have known about this threat did know and failed to act on it. Even this guys father contacted the proper authorities and warned them about his son's extremist views.

Face it folks screening at airports has a limited, I say again limited impact on a persons security in the air. And in the end the only real accomplishment is we employee people with limited skills, no manners, little training and the attitude of a Nazi to ensure we are safe when we fly.

Gosh what a warm and fuzzy that should give everyone, and for the President to order a review of the screening process only means more delays and the sacrifice of liberties in the name of perceived security, which is in a word ridiculous.

This is an act of perception and nothing more, a terror attempt fails, maybe its just the thought of a terror attack that would somehow change the world, or American policy or save the polar bears. And in response to this we enact more restrictions and processes that are nothing more than theater and appeasement to the American public. Even the new technology that is being touted on the news that allows a strip search of a person passing thru it, is still just another gadget meant to make us feel safe.

Lets get off the stick here and deal with the root cause of the problem, radical Muslims who want to die for Jihad. Education, intelligence and more education is our weapon, not screening luggage and body scans with mm wave technology.
