Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative Dish Detergent - a Review

Going Green with Dish Washing

Daisy May
Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative dish detergent is a new product on store shelves. The bottle claims that Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative is a super degreaser. But is it worth your time and hard earned money? I bought a bottle of Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative to find out.

The lime scent of Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative liquid dish detergent literally fills the room when you add it to running hot water. The lime scent reminds me of the smell of green Kool-Aid but much stronger. Doing dishes is a great way to refreshen the kitchen air as long as you are washing dishes with Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative. The smell is so refreshing that the Ajax company should have marketed the Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative dish detergent as aroma therapy.

The rainbow bright green color of the Ajax Lime dish detergent is almost fun to add to the water. Between the fun color, the fresh scent and the sudsing bubbles, making a sink of dishwater feels like playing instead of cleaning. Possibly this is a good incentive for kids to want to hand wash dishes.

Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative dish detergent gives dish washing a new scent and a new look, but does it hold its own against dirty greasy dishes? Yes it does. In fact, it seems to work better than other Ajax types and other leading dish detergents. The Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative dish liquid stays sudsy the entire time, cuts tough grease and keeps the wonderful lime scent. Perhaps it is the bleach alternative that makes this dish detergent so strong against grease, or maybe the working action can be attributed to the lime. Whichever it is, the Ajax with Lime is a wonderful help in the dish washing chore.

The one thing that I didn't notice right away about this Ajax dish detergent is the omission of use as a hand soap. Most Ajax dish detergents, especially the Antibacterial, is labeled as hand soap prior to the dish detergent label also. Before I noticed this though, I had been using it as a quick reach hand soap and never noticed a difference.

The Ajax Lime with Bleach Alternative dish detergent comes in a 16 once bottle. The price is $1.25 plus tax at Family Dollar stores, but can be purchased at most department stores for about the same price.

Isn't a department store a store like Dillard's, Macy's, JcPenney's? I don't think you're going to find Ajax at a department store where they sell clothes and high end home items.

Another huge plus--it totally eradicates mildew smell on sponges. We had an issue with smelly sponges, until we started using Ajax with lime. I am sure this is correct. Because, two days ago, when the Ajax ran out and we purchased another product the mildew smell returned within just a few hours.
