Many people are wondering what happened with the AKdiesel situation, in regards to Sparta losing what may be one of the best linemen in the league. The terms are actually quite clear, and Madcap is capable of being blocked by the league rules if consensus deems it so. We will revisit this truth.
Saturday morning, when Madcap showed up, one of his initial conversations was with the Commish and he quickly commented to the original Mastiff,
"Cap, I kind of told Akeem it was ok from the beginning, because there was nothing in the rules that prohibited player jumping."
From the keen observer's standpoint, one must take this statement with a certain salt of skepticism. Many may not be aware that the new General Manager of the re-surging Nonamers, is none other than Mikey D. Accordingly, Jason can now focus on league administration and enforcement. Does anyone sincerely think, the Dark Commish would refrain from trade talks?
Take a look at some Madcap signals intelligence:

Well, you all know, Madcap wasn't going to go into that dark night quietly. Madcap's only hope to save his lineman, was to create a posse throughout the leagues-captains to get them on his side of the silent-commissioner. Angrily, the Madcap could not get in touch with Akeem or Jason (As D12 often ignores his calls unless needed). Circling the wagons was the only option.
In the midst of all this, Conquest bluffed in forfeiting their games and Athar finally persuaded Madcap to a final solution. Here it is:
1. Akeem can't play as a lineman against Sparta, (due to Spartas shortage of linemen) next week. If they meet in the playoffs, all bets are off.
2. Akeem will be referred to Ephialtes, as the first Spartan traitor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephialtes_of_Trachis (we are hoping this takes off league-wide and motivates players to play hard against this fast D-lineman---shouting "traitor," "Eph" and so forth)
3. Conquest has to make an honest and sincere attempt to get Sparta a lineman before the playoffs start. (If the league blocks this via captain's agreement or bar - because the lineman hasn't played in enough regular season games, then Sparta will try and make do even though they lost another player to injury this week). {Editor's note: Sparta was only team so far required to play three hard games this past week, due to its draw in the schedule, virtually every other team has physically profited from 69er forfeits or Pigs scheduling, yet there is no remedy or mathematical equation to support this in the standings}
Ultimately, Sparta cannot attach its name to be the contributing factor to a forfeit - and will not block Akeem from playing, period.
However, there is another historical influence that pushed this trade into Conquest's hands. In season I (December 06), the Madcap in his cutthroat trading style, was able to trade 'Ben Schor" a novaffl player who has since moved to California (and a very good scrambling QB - as seen through BHidds's remarkably frequent recruiting attempts in late 2006) for two new Maddawgs, Levon and TJ ---both players are now Bombers. Those two individuals helped the Madcap's Maddawgs get to the playoffs and beat the Namers in the first round.
The question to consider is whether Madcap had a priori (before the fact) knowledge of Ben Schor's immediate departure, because why else would he trade such a good quarterback? The simple answer was he did and hoped to get a free trade and was ecstatic about getting two for none. He knew Schor was leaving, but he traded him anyway. At that time, Madcap was unaware the new portly speed receiver (Grover) had more clout on the Levon, TJ issue than any potential trade talks.
The Conquest, then a young team with WB, Theo, Athar and Ali was the first bunch to get crossed by the Madcap.
These facts, in a humble "honor-check" were thrown in the reinvigorated pride of Madcap's face last week, requiring him to trade one of the more potent pass rushers in the league for a TBD lineman of Conquest's choosing. Sparta's only hope is that the league reminds Conquest of their unfulfilled obligation.
As far as Jason's ulterior motives, in staying silent about the Akeem trade until mid-week hell-raising by the Madcap, I let the reader be the judge. By the look of the above chat you decide if Jason was simply in "jest-mode," or did his delay in letting the captains know of the situation serve a more diabolical purpose.
Could the Madcap's crossing of the Commish, be analogous to Jabba the Hut crossing the Evil Empire when it suits his purpose? Both are evil, but one is more chaotic than the other.
