Al Gore as a Possible Vice-President to One of the Democratic Hopefuls

It has been speculated that Al Gore may be a Vice-President for one of the democratic hopeful candidates. The strengths and weaknesses of the former Vice-President of the Clinton administration make a difference in whether or not he would make a good candidate in the Vice-Presidency position for the democratic hopeful candidate.

Al Gore's strengths are mainly based on his political activism in dealing with environmental issues. He won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work in helping the environment. Also with his documentary entitled An Inconvenient Truth, he made people aware of the problem of Global Warming. His work also included when he was Vice-President for Bill Clinton to help produce more energy conserving gas.

In the Clinton administration he was very active in his role with helping to make affirmative action more prevalent and to halt taking more money out of Social Security than was necessary. Health care was also a main issue for him to deal with. Issues of having no health insurance became a standing goal for him to fix and one Al Gore took seriously; platform in which many candidates are taking to the tables.

And his role as a Vice-President would not be new to him if he were selected with one of the Democratic hopefuls. His experience would help maintain some balance and he would not have to ease in as much because he was already there once before.

Al Gore's weaknesses hold firmly as well. As his role in environmental causes rose so did an outbreak of new stories featuring his consumption in 2006 of roughly 221,000 kwh of energy. As his documentary made headlines, his usage started to increase (Al Gore One Weakness). He had made a contradicting action when the reports came out of his electric bill usage causing a loss of faith in what he was trying to tell.

In his campaign for the 2000 election for Presidency, he wanted to make more federal reliance on religious institutions to help with social programming. Hence making the separation of Church and State a smaller line.

His ignorance of people have been proven for him not to be able to connect with the general public at times, making him a hard candidate to relate to. Even though general practices were took to help reform certain crucial issues, many thought of him as stupid or not really there behind the shroud of the Clinton administration.

Instances of Foreign Affair bumbles, like the fund-raising for Buddhists cost him awareness of other cultures and making it hard for people to believe his foreign knowledge of events were good. His Foreign policies at times were good as he made himself known to other nations, but fell short when actions were not followed through for a moment in the spotlight.

Overall for the possible candidacy of being a Vice-President again for one of the Democratic hopefuls, Al Gore lacks the initiative. His main platform would be environmental growth, though good would not hold many of the population's attention. Being valued on past history and perhaps the administration he was once part of, would give a bad vote and hinder the Democratic party that will soon have their Presidential candidate for the next election.
