Al Gore, Molly Hagerty - Sex Scandal

Is it True or False

CJMathis
I want to start this piece by stating clearly, "I am not a fan of VP Al Gore", but I do believe when writing an article about a person and what has taken place should be precise and accurate (or at least as accurate as we understand it). By that I mean even if it is my opinion about the situation, when quoting facts of the incident those facts should be facts. So that being said here is the time line, facts, and my opinion of the Al Gore Sex Scandal.

Lets start with the time line. October 24, 2006, Masseuse Molly Hagerty gets a call from the hotel bell man asking her to come to the Lucia Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon to give a massage to a VIP. Time to report is 10:30 pm.

I don't know about work hours for massage therapist but I expect most of them
don't do massages in the middle of the night or late at night. But lets give Molly
the benefit of the doubt here.

First reported to Portland Police December 15, 2006 almost 2 months after the alleged assault. Molly Hagerty reports the incident to police and in January, 2007 her attorney contacts Portland Police to explain that Molly Hagerty doesn't want to participate in the investigation any longer, as she will pursue the case in civil court.
Read this first police report here: www.scribd.com/doc/33472914/Portland-Police-Bureau-report-on-Al-Gore
What this tells me is that Molly Hagerty doesn't want Al Gore to go to jail for his
alleged sexual assault. If she takes him to Civil Court and he is found guilty there
will be a financial settlement.

January 6, 2009, Molly Hagerty contacts Portland Police and tells them that she wishes to make a second statement regarding her alleged sexual assault in October, 2006.
Read this new statement to police here: www.flashalertnewswire.net/images/news/2010-06/3056/36280/Gore_reports.pdf

In this police report Molly Hagerty explains, in her own words, exactly what took place while she was in the Lucia Hotel room with Vice President Al Gore? It is very graphic; under 13 should not read this material.

Be sure to make a note of the fact that Molly Hagerty never reveals in her statement
any witness, video (secret) tape, or DNA on her cloths.

Portland Police investigate as much as possible and close the case stating there is not enough evidence to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this alleged sexual assault actually took place on October 24, 2006. Also keep in mind this is almost 4 years post the incident so there is nothing left in the room or hotel for police to look at.

During the period of time in June/July 2010 the news media interviews Molly Hagerty's friend, Donna Burleigh and she is adamant in her statement, "She doesn't want any money out of this she wants VP Al Gore to pay for his crime."

On June 26, 2010 the National Enquirer releases not only a photo of Molly Hagarty, I need to add here that this is when the Massage Therapist name was first released to the public, they also release that Molly Hagarty has a "Secret video tape, a witness, and the pants from the evening of the alleged attack with DNA stains".

Questions I am asking myself is this, why would Molly tell the police she wished to
take this through Civil Court?
Why did Molly not tell the police she had the video, witness, and DNA evidence?
Why did Molly tell her story to the Enquirer before asking the police to re-open the
case or give the police the added evidence.

Perhaps you have other questions regarding this case. Here is my opinion and please remember this is my opinion.

Perhaps Molly thought she could take VP Al Gore to civil court and he would pay her money to keep the story quiet without it going public or before a jury. Or perhaps she thinks that once she went to the Police and they contacted VP Al Gore for his side of the story she thought he would come forth with a settlement like in the case of Michael Jackson and his legal issues. Why in the world would someone keep evidence secret from the Police Department when asking them to process someone on such a heinous crime as sexual assault? Finally, and most importantly why would someone hold onto the cloths with DNA stains on them for almost 4 years if she had decided not to pursue the criminal in the case? I can't help but think there is something else on the mind of Molly Hagarty and maybe the recently released news of the Al Gore; Tipper Gores separation has something to do with her decision to now bring this up. Perhaps now she feels that Tipper will not be harmed by the news of this incident, or perhaps she felt now that VP Al Gore will be more likely to want this kept on the down low because of the up coming divorce and settlements looming in front of he and Tipper.

The way Molly Hagarty has handled this alleged assault is clearly not thought out well. Did she take the advice of her attorney? If so I think perhaps she needs a new attorney on her side.

I also want to state here that I in no way condone any form of assault, sexual or any other form of assault on a person. I do however think that Molly should have come forward and continued the police investigation on her alleged assault. I also want to state that I am an advocate for NO MEANS NO. By that I mean if a woman or man says no to the advances of another and those advances continue then it is indeed an assault and needs to be handled by our legal system. The legal system has made improvements on these assault and sexual assault cases and how Police and the Judicial Courts handle them and there is no reason for an assault victim NOT to come forward and put these legal avenues into play to take care of the guilty party.

end quote "Perhaps now she feels that Tipper will not be harmed by the news of this incident, or perhaps she felt now that VP Al Gore will be more likely to want this kept on the down low because of the up coming divorce and settlements looming in front of he and Tipper." end quote

My comment: and maybe she figures she's more likely to be believed now that the separation has shattered the public perception (or illusion, if you prefer) of the Gores' perfect marriage.

Excellent job. All of your questions should have been answered before any newspaper took information from her. Why did she go to the Enquirer and how much money did they pay her? 4 years is too long

Amen CJ. What part of NO is not understood. I think I am suspicious. Keep us updated. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt...but...

It certainly reduces her credibility when she waits so long to report it. Nice job, C.J.

This whole story is fishy. I'm not buying it. I'd believe he's gay first.

Yeah, that was no therapeutic massage.
