Al Gore Separates from Wife Tipper

Al and Tipper Gore Separate

Gabrielle Rice
Al and Tipper Gore have been a happily married couple for 40 years. That is no longer the case. An email circulated to Al Gore's associates stating that it was a mutual decision. Gore spokeswoman, Kalee Kreider, confirmed the story, but would not give any other comment. It's reported that the Gores told friends that they grew apart. There are no signs of infidelity. Anonymous associates commented that Al Gore's campaign to draw attention to climate control kept him on the road a lot. Associates said the campaign resulted in the couple living separate lives. Al Gore has been involved with environmental issues since 1976. However, in 2010, it is causing a problem in his marriage. Hmmm...

The Gores where married on May 19, 1970 at the National Cathedral in Washington. It is hard to believe that these two are splitting after witnessing them happily married during their stint in at the White House for 8 years. The long kiss Al Gore gave Tipper during the 2000 Democratic presidential convention is still talked about to this day. The image of the Gores happy relationship was contrast to the Clintons marital debacles.

Al and Tipper Gore were high school sweethearts. Once again, a celebrity marriage bites the dust. After 40 years of marriage, people do run out of things to say to each other. However, this is still heart breaking. The Gores were a living example of a happy marriage to the American people. They also conducted themselves with the utmost integrity. They also displayed good values. Even, Hillary and Bill Clinton didn't separate.

What will Al and Tipper do without each other? Maybe Tipper can write a book. Surely, she would have something to say about being the wife of the Vice President of the United States. Al Gore will probably keep campaigning about climate control. Although no affair has been reported, it makes one wonder why they separated. Yes, the claim is that they grew apart, but so what? Is that really enough reason to flush 40 years down the drain? Some couples go to counseling to reconnect. Separation seems like a rash option for two people in their sixties.

    That is sad.

Unfortunate state of affairs when such a "rock solid" marriage ends. Reminds me of when Sonny and Cher split.

    Great reporting on this!
