Wisconsin if famous for its Scandinavian heritage. Part of that Scandinavian heritage includes Sweden. It should be no surprise to anyone that Wisconsin is home to a very popular Swedish restaurant. What may surprise many people though is that this Swedish restaurant is has a sod roof with goats on it. However it is not just the goats that you will remember Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant for.

Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant is located at 10698 North Bay Shore Drive, Sister Bay, Wisconsin. You may not have heard of Sister Bay before but if you are in Wisconsin it is worth the drive.

Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant features a Julbord which is commonly called a smorgasbord. However here you will get the true Julbord experience. They can teach the proper Swedish way to eat. You actually have to eat dishes in a certain order.

The waitresses are all attractive young women in traditional Swedish attire. Many even have accents.

Some of the fare at the traditional Julbord smorgasbord include fish, sliced meats, and the most important part of the meal is the traditional ham. While the ham may be the important part of the Julbord many people find the Swedish deserts to be the best part of the meal.

Other popular Swedish foods served include Swedish meatballs, pancake with lingonberries, cheese, and bread. One thing that Scandinavians are known for is being able to eat and drink copious amounts. At Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant you too can eat and drink like a true man of the North even if that north just is the north part of your home town.

If you eat at any restaurant that has goats then Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant needs to be the one. If you eat at any Swedish restaurant then Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant is one of your best bets.
