Al Sharpton Calls Elements of Tea Party Racist; O'Reilly Puts Him Back in His Place (where He Belongs)

Marc Schenker
Looks like Al Sharpton still hasn't learned his lesson from the demeaning Tawana Brawley incident from more than 20 years ago. On the O'Reilly Factor, Sharpton opened his big, fat, bigoted mouth (again) and accused elements of the Tea Party of being racist. His accusations centered around a debate based on unverifiable rumors that some members of the Tea Party are racists, mainly based on doubtful footage of a white protester heckling black congressman Emanuel Cleaver as he walked into Congress last week, and also unsubstantiated allegations by black congressman John Lewis that he was called the ever-omnipotent N-word. However, O'Reilly-to his credit-talked some sense directly to the face of the wild-accusations-making reverend as he reminded Sharpton that no legitimate proof actually exists that anti-Obamacare protesters ever once uttered a racist word, as in the N-word.

One thing you have to realize right away when bigots like Sharpton use destructive accusations like "racist!" to brand a whole group of people-as he undoubtedly did against the Tea Party protesters-is that he's doing it to discredit the anti-socialized health care movement that the Tea Party is a part of. In reverse-racist minds like Al Sharpton's, using fiery accusations involving racism with no proof is the most guaranteed way to peel away support for a particular movement...which is why he's committing this tactic against the Tea Party. Moreover, this is also a tactic that some black Democrats are ever so fond of, which explains the whole conspiracy last week in the mainstream media to report as fact unsubstantiated allegations by black Democrats like John Lewis.

The discussion on The Factor quickly turned negative and sour-as only race-baiters and reverse-racists like Sharpton can make them-when he definitively charged that there were "people standing outside of Congress using the N-word." That's a big, unpardonable problem, however, because there exists-at least as of this time-absolutely no proof that the anti-Obamacare protesters last week were throwing around the N-word as black lawmakers were making their way inside Congress! What exists-and what the falsely accusing Sharpton is basing his accusations on-is a tape that shows black lawmakers being heckled by anti-Obamacare protesters as they made their way inside Congress...but there is no audio on the tape! That means that one cannot verifiably tell one way or another if the protesters were racist or not.

Since in America you're innocent before being proved guilty, you have to, however, give the protesters the benefit of the doubt that they were not racist and that they were merely-as they have a right to do-strongly communicating to the lawmakers their disapproval about their pro-Obamacare votes! When unjust and divisive, professional race-baiters like Sharpton continue making said unwarranted charges of a race-based nature, it says more about Sharpton's racism than it does about the alleged racism of the Tea Party protesters. And that's just a fact.

Sharpton being Sharpton, he promptly incriminated himself as a complete and doubtless liar by making the phony statement that he saw the tape, the insinuation being clearly that the aforementioned tape in question established that racist slurs were thrown around, when it does not do that at all as it has no audio! That's when O'Reilly just had to step in and bring the proverbial hammer down on the racist masquerading as a reverend, reminding Sharpton that no such tape exists that shows racist comments thrown around. Neither did the police or even reporters there at the time specifically point anyone out as having said the N-word. Only Sharptons' baseless-and-provocative accusations exist, accusations that are really unforgiveable because of their destructive nature. To be clear, I'm saying 100% that accusing someone of racism falsely is at least as bad as actually being racist, because that person's image and reputation is then marred irreparably!

Readers ought not be all that surprised that Sharpton's engaging in this racist race-baiting once more, as his career has largely been overshadowed by past, blatant incidents of racism towards white people. In example, the infamous case of Tawana Brawley. Just to recap, in 1987, Brawley was a 15-year-old black girl who was found lying in a garbage bag with feces smeared on her, along with her clothing torn and burned and epithets written on her body. She accused six white men of assaulting and raping her. Guess who came to her "aid?" Guess who came to her "rescue?" Who you gonna call? That's right...it's Reverend Al, kids! Though a grand jury which investigated for several months, mind you, found Brawley had fabricated her whole story (clearly because she was racist herself), Reverend Al and two black attorneys (her "advisers") ruined a nearby white NY prosecutor's, Steven Pagones, reputation, good name and career by baselessly and falsely accusing him of racism and Brawley's fake rape!!! Pagones successfully sued in court for a sum nearly approaching $400,000, but Sharpton never paid up! Unbelievable audacity and lack of remorse from the "reverend."

The point is that race-baiters and reverse racists like Al "So-called Reverend" Sharpton use race as a political weapon in the most unfair and tactical way: to discredit and marginalize their opponents. Today, it's the Tea Party because Sharpton is for Obamacare; yesterday, it was the Tawana Brawley incident. Sharpton's only purpose in society is to be as divisive as possible for the purposes of propping up his own career as a so-called civil rights advocate.

Great article. Sharpton NEEDS racism. It is the bread he eats and the air he breathes. Democrats can't accept that their policies are bad, so they have to blame racism.

R_not (Guest), I agree that Sharpton is a fat race pimp, but, O'Reilly is also a nasty sleaze ball for having him on that show. Yes, 90% percent of Blacks voted for Obama, but, race had nothing at all to do with it. With the exception of Sharton, most blacks are NOT racist people. Palin was the reason they voted for Obama. People knew that if McCain were to die, President Palin would try to overturn the Civil Rights Bill of 1963. Nobody is interested in becoming a slave. When will you folks understand this?? Would you enjoy being a slave?? I don't think so. And, remember, Obama would NOT have gotten elected without the votes of WHITE supporters. Blacks are only 10% of the population. Whites got him into office, not blacks. You forgot to mention this little fact. Stop blaming blacks for all the ills of America. You are a fat, evil, ugly bigot just like Al Charlatan.

Same ole template Al Sharpton is known for. It never ends.

Good article. I like the phrase "innocent until proven guilty." Unfortunately, many conservatives do not apply the "innocent until proven guilty" phrase to people on entitlement programs.

    Great article..thanks Marc!

Oops, I meant over 90% of the voting blacks.

  • r_not3/30/2010

IT IS ABOUT TIME that someone on Fox news told Sharpton that he is full of it!!!

I have gone to several Tea Parties - one in Sacramento (around the Capital building), and one in Walnut Creek, and BOTH had black guys as speakers.

Talk about racists when over 80% of the voting blacks vote for Obama only because he is BLACK! Now, why so many Jews voted for Obama is beyond me because I was repulsed by his background, but I am one of the few who actually did some research on the guy. I even snooped around when Michelle's thesis was still open to the public so I downloaded it. I haven't read it, but it is Obama's junk that I want to read!

Anyway, thanks again for a great article.
