Alan Grayson Demands Jailing, Fining of Political Critic

"MyCongressmanIsNuts" Proves Irksome

Mark Whittington
Congressman Alan Grayson, Democrat of Florida, is very angry with Angie Langley, private citizen of Lake County, Florida. Alan Grayson is so angry that he wants Attorney General Eric Holder to put Angie Langley in jail and fined.

Angie Langley's great sin is to put up a web site called MyCongressmanIsNuts.Com, which has raised 3,725 dollars to defeat Congressman Alan Grayson when she is not in fact one of Grayson's constituents. Furthermore, Grayson claims that the site is designed solely to attack him. It is unclear if putting up a website, even under those circumstances, is a federal offense under the part of the US Code that Alan Grayson cites in his complaint.

Alan Grayson did say that the name of the website was "tasteless and juvenile." These are concepts that Alan Grayson is indeed familiar with. My Fox TV station in Orlando recounts how.

Alan Grayson first came to national attention when he asserted, on the floor of the Congress, that the Republican plan for health care reform was for sick people to "die quickly." This was followed by an demand that former Vice President Dick Cheney "STFU", which stands for an obscene suggestion. Alan Grayson also called Linda Robertson, an adviser to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, a "K Street Whore."

There would seem to be a little bit of method in Alan Grayson's madness. The sending of the letter to Eric Holder, even if ignored by the Attorney General, would seem to serve as a means to intimidate Angie Langley. However, if, as it seems, Angie Langley is not intimidated, the letter is almost certain the backfire and provide some free publicity for Angie Langley's website, allowing her to raise even more money for Alan Grayson's defeat next year.

Alan Grayson also seems to have proven Angie Langley's point. The Congressman is nuts.

More importantly Alan Grayson is revealed to be a man of such expansive ego and such disdain for the US Constitution that he would actually attempt to use his authority as a member of Congress to silence and intimidate a critic. Usually a politician who is irked by someone criticizing him chooses to either ignore the criticism or at most use rhetorical parrying to try to respond to the criticism. Few people in modern America actually attempt to employ police state tactics and try to get a political opponent thrown in jail simply for being a political opponent.

corporations and their mouthpieces spent MILLIONS to defeat him. If you are going to denigrate a person then say something truthful that he can learn from and that explains your issue. I wrote him numerous times and never got a response back about illegal immigration. But Florida lost one of the FEW politicians that would listen to the voter rather than the contributor.

He is a Democrat. He will necessarily support Democratic party decisions. He stood up for audits of the Fed, was on committee investigating companies in Iraq defrauding the American taxpayer. Has stood against the wars that the arms manufacturers and the globalist bankers will try and make last forever sinking future generations further in debt so a few multinational companies can get filthy rich. He doesn't receive any corporate financing-doesn't take millions in exchange for promises to screw the American public and yet corporations and their mouthpieces spent MILLIONS to defeat him. In Grayson's defense, he's not the only one to do this shit.

Jim Bunning did it, too. Dig deeper, I'm sure douches on both sides of the isle don't believe in free speech when it comes to "character assassination." Michelle Bachmann bitched up a storm when someone said NICE THINGS about her son.

I believe I saw it on some conservative website, a tshirt that reads "Journalist, rope, tree: Some assembly required."

Is it only Grayson, or does damn near everybody have a problem with people utilizing their free speech?

In Grayson's defense. He was dismissed from therapy way too soon.

Grayson claims that hundreds die each day but he wants to pass a health billl that won't go into effect until 2013 or 2014.I'd say that he is killing hundreds of thousands of people if you go by his logic.

Alan Grayson is a complete moron. I think it is GREAT that there is a website critical of him. He likes to dish it, but cannot take it. It seems that most Orlando people will not be voting for this idiot again, and I find that rather amusing. Say goodbye Alan.

@tblock, He could try and I hope he does. Try and find 12 people who will go along with that lawsuit, LOL. It would galvanize every blogger from Kalamazoo to the Everglades against him, so as I say if he feels so inspired, bring it on. I think it is safe to say that the last thing the current administration needs is this fight, but as I say if they feel the need so bring it. I think Grayson should learn some decorum and realize that you cannot have served so few terms and get respect with constant uproars, and that the last thing the left wants is a lawsuit that will give fire to those who say the liberals want to take away their freedoms. Filing this would do just that. Fox will have a field day, I bet this just goes away. I also bet her site gets more hits in the next 48 hours than it ever will two weeks from now.

I think Grayson could sue her for definition of character.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, Alan Grayson is nuttier than a fruitcake. Oh no, he might want to fine me and throw me into jail for that comment.
