Alanis Morissette recently announced her marriage to Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway and that the couple was expecting their first baby via the singers twitter feed. "I'm Glowing!" Morissette who is 5 months along reported to US Weekly on the surprise pregnancy.

After reading the January 2010 issue of High Times magazine, the first question that popped into my head after hearing about Alanis Morissette's baby bump was, "Will she give up pot while she is pregnant?"

In an interview with High Times magazine in December of 2009 (published Jan. 2010), Morissette made her stance on pot and marijuana legalization pretty clear. In fact, she cultivates her own plants in a massive pot garden. When asked about cultivation tips she said, "Um, let's see: love your plants, talk to your plants - they're listening!" You can view the pictures of her marijuana garden HERE.

When Chelsea Handler from Chelsea Lately asked Alanis Morissette about her stance on pot legalization after the announcement of her pregnancy Morissette cheerily replied, "I enjoy it sometimes, but not while I'm pregnant, obviously!" Successfully avoiding a concrete stance on marijuana legalization while answering that she does or did enjoy smoking pot on occasion but will not be while she is pregnant.

Currently, the expectant singer is writing a "stream of consciousness, philosophy" type book while living in Los Angeles. She is also reported to be in great shape and keeping healthy by taking daily walks with her two pet dogs and her new husband. It should be noted also that since 2009 the singer has been on a vegan diet.

Morissette can be seen on the television show Weeds in the role of Dr. Audra Kitson, obstetrician to Mary Louise Parker's character Nancy Botwin (a widowed mother who sells pot to support her kids).

Her latest musical release was in April when she released the single "I Remain" for the film "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time". In May she performed with Crystal Bowersox (Mama Sox) on American Idol singing her very own debut single, "You Outta Know".

Alanis Morissette and Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway should be expecting their new addition in December or early January.
