Disturbed Delivers Another Smash Hit with 2008 Release

After a few years' absence, the heavy metal group Disturbed comes back full-throttle with their latest album titled "Indestructible".

From the quiet crescendo of sirens in the title track to the sudden stoppage of sound in Façade, Disturbed delivers pulse-pounding metal in their own methodic way - combining the new school catchy riffs with old-fashioned extremely difficult but beautiful guitar solos.

This CD has a little something for everyone, and that's what makes it one of those CDs you can listen to straight through without skipping a track. Songs like "Indestructible," "Perfect Insanity," and "Façade" give Disturbed fans the catchy and trendy sound that most youthful metal listeners will enjoy.

Although their style overall has changed greatly from their premiere album "The Sickness", Disturbed's psychotic style of old can still be heard in songs like "The Night," "Enough," "Criminal," and "Divide". Fans of their first album will find themselves yearning for more of this, but will ultimately be satisfied.

Of course, the guitar solos from lead guitarist Dan Donegan are all on a very high level of difficulty, but he really shows off his range of styles. From the thrashing highly technical solo in "Perfect Insanity" to the move 'n groove style of his solo in "Divide", Donegan does it all.

David Draiman's lyrical ability hasn't fallen off a bit, as they still carry the same emotions of bitterness and discontent with which he's always spoken. Although the insanity of his screams has waned a bit behind the preferred clean vocals, the singing doesn't get in the way of the intensity of the music, and in fact drives the message home in a new way.

Disturbed fans past and present will find comfort in this album for its range of styles. In paying homage to their roots while exploring new and interesting sounds, Disturbed has created another smash album with popularity rivaling the best of any of their albums.
