Album Review "En Mi Cuarto/In My Room"

Sometimes one wonders why there are so many musicians/artists out there that sound the same. We find no new variety now days. This is why we have to search elsewhere when we want something different something that's not your average cookie cutter type of music.

We searched and we found a talented, growing independent artist by the name of Raymundo Monge a California based musician from Mexican born parents. ---Raymundo first started singing and performing music professionally at the age of 9. He was a guitarist and singer in "Mariachi Juvenil Voz de America" for 6 years. In 2006, he became a member of the senior group, "Mariachi Voz de America". He has now dropped his first EP featuring musical arrangements and production by Angry Mike Eleopulous (angrymike.com) --who has done work for the likes of Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls and Luis Miguel. Richard Mata who has been Raymundo's musical director in Mariachi Voz de America for 10 years, and David Soto III who will be joining Raymundo Monge on stage for his Album Release Concert in April 2010

Without further adieu let us get right into the material. "En Mi Cuarto/ In My Room" is a mixture of pop,rock up-beat songs and ballads. Songs were written all by Monge featuring Spanish and English songs. "Hay Un Angel Ti" which literally translates "There's an angel in you" is a pop song that really makes you want to place this song on repeat this is a favorite among many including me. Come back again follows, about a guy trying to change his lying and cheating ways feeling hopeless and seeking his ex girlfriend to "come back again"
Be Happy-- is another fan favorite containing some truly inspirational lyrical content. About not giving up and finding the ultimate goal everyone looks for in life which is "happiness". Dreamin is more of a pop rock song that definitely leaves you "Dreamin".
Vuelve a mi is a mixture of a mariachi instrumental ballad it is a very beautiful song with a great melody.

Monge is definitely rising as a talented musician and song writer. Give this independent artist a listen and purchase his album on Itunes. The only con I can truly depict is that it leaves us listeners wanting more...
