ALDI Grocery Store

It is a fact of life that every family needs groceries. Prices range depending on your location and which grocery store you shop. Before finding ALDI, we shopped at local grocers or even Wal-Mart Supercenter for our family's groceries. However, now that we have found ALDI we rarely go anywhere else for grocery items.

First of all, if you are not familiar with ALDI, let me explain. ALDI is a grocery store chain that exists in many areas. They are becoming more popular among families across the nation. ALDI offers shoppers a wide variety of common grocery items at reduced prices. From produce and dairy products to cleaning supplies and baby care items, ALDI carries the most common items that families will shop for. Because ALDI keeps their overhead costs lower than other grocery stores, they are able to pass the savings on to consumers. Generally, there is only one or two cashiers in the store and a manager. They do not stockers or baggers. To get a shopping cart, you must insert a quarter into the slot machine. Once you are done shopping and you have put your groceries into your car, you simply take the shopping cart back to the cart station and insert the key to get your quarter back. This system cuts back on shopping carts being left in the parking lot or being stolen.

Most of the products at ALDI are not name brand. While the store does occasionally get name brand products in their inventory, they are of limited availability and while supplies last. The day to day items are all ALDI products. There is a 200% guarantee on all ALDI products. With a receipt, you are able to exchange any product that you are not satisfied with AND get your back. We have not found any products to be low quality yet and there are actually a few items that we like better than previous brands.

One negative to shopping at ALDI is that they do not provide bags for the customers. This is one way that they keep their costs down. There are bags for sale at the cash register if you must use them. You are welcome to bring your own bags, boxes, baskets or crates to put your groceries in. The store does allow shoppers to use empty boxes from the sales floor. Once your groceries have been scanned by the cashier and paid for, simply go to the bagging area and put your groceries in the proper holding spaces. Another con to ALDI is that they do not accept coupons or offer buy one get one items. Occasionally, other grocery stores that offer sales or accept coupons can have cheaper prices. You just have to watch the sale circulars to see what is the best price.

Consider shopping at ALDI and see how much you can save on your groceries!
