Aldi is the new grocery store that has just recently been introduced to Daytona Beach, Florida. It is a discount grocery chain that is similar to the popular discount grocery chain, Save-A-Lot. However, although they have many similarities, they have a few pointed differences as well. Will these differences prove favorable to customers? Some of them might.

First of all, they are alike in that they are both discount grocery stores. They offer groceries for discounted prices. Next, they both contain similar settings in some ways. They both display groceries in aisles composed of boxes. They both require you to box or bag your own groceries. They both sell plastic and cloth bags for a small fee. They also both sell similar products. And they both carry the same payment methods of accepted tender.

The differences are that Aldi's décor is a bit more updated. Their store layout is about the same as Save-A-Lot. However, the decoration style is more modern and new. You have to pay twenty-five cents for the use of one of Aldi's shopping carts, whereas you do not with Save-A-Lot. Aldi offers slightly different product brands. Some of them are cheaper in price, whereas others are higher. For instance, items like milk, eggs, and bread tend to be cheaper at Aldi than Save-A-Lot, which is a large appeal to many consumers. Yet, some items such as certain pasta noodles and other items are higher than Save-A-Lot by a few cents. Plus, Aldi carries mode odd items than Save-A-Lot, such as hole punchers, toys, and a few other office and home supplies. In addition, Aldi's employees are provided tall chairs to sit in behind the cash register while they check out customers. This, of course, is a great appeal to potential employees.

Those are the major similarities and differences between Aldi and Save-A-Lot. The conclusion that most grocery shoppers seem to be drawing is that Aldi is a new Save-A-Lot. It resembles a Save-A-Lot is many forms and fashions, only exhibiting slight differences in prices and policies that may prove favorable to many employees and consumers. Will Aldi come to be more popular in Daytona Beach, Florida, than Save-A-Lot? That remains to be seen. However, consumers are at least giving it a try for now and, for the most part, seem to like the new version of Save-A-Lot: Aldi. It offers many benefits and upgrades from the traditional discount grocery chains.
