Alec Baldwin and His Filipina Mail-Order-Bride
When Will They Stop Those Derogatory Comments?
The more recent happening involved veteran Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin who commented that maybe he will get a Filipina mail-order-bride. Although I know for a fact that mail-order-bride setups are still in existence, I think it is unfair to single out Filipinas.
Only a few people have resorted to this scheme, mainly for the reason of escaping poverty, and it is unfair to assume to every Filipina is up for sale. I know, this is not what Baldwin meant. But really, his comment was provocative.
Maybe we should stop the name calling of people from other nations. Each one of us has rights. We live our lives the way we want to. So if we have nothing good to say to other people, let us just keep our mouths shut. We should refrain from making comments that have hints to hitting other races, especially if we are on TV or if a representative of any media is around. If there are sensitive issues, then maybe we should just talk about this with our friends and not openly utter them and get misquoted (but I doubt that Mr. Baldwin was misquoted.)
Now the Philippine senate is demanding a public apology from Mr. Baldwin and they say that he will face mayhem if and when he visits the country. I hope that Mr. Baldwin will be gentleman enough to make an apology.
I have always liked this actor. Too bad, he lost my respect for him on account of his ungentlemanly behavior.

Like many of his far-left Hollywood pals, Baldwin feels the need to embarrass this country on occassion with displays of ignorance. Sure, he has a right to free speech like anyone. But as a public personality it would be nice to see some sensitivity about stereotypes. There are plenty of gold-diggers right here in the US. Why slight Filipinas as sex objects? Once again, the true nature of Baldwin and his ilk is exposed by his arrogant, disdainful remarks. Maybe it shouldn't be taken too personally, tho. He treats his own children with contempt, so it's a good thing if he has no more to suffer the same fate. Too bad he didn't keep his promise to move to France- we'd be better off.
