Alec Baldwin Hospital: 30 Rock Actor Taken to Hospital After 911 Call by Daughter

Alec Baldwin's hospital fiasco is making its way through the rumor mills. Alec Baldwin was taken to the hospital after his 14 year old daughter made a 911 call. Before "30 Rock" fans start to panic, it should be noted that he was observed for an hour and then released. He's not in any form of serious danger.

The daughter that called 911 because her father was "unresponsive" is also the same daughter that he left a nasty message for a couple of years ago during a brutal custody battle with his ex-wife. Alec's publicist calls the incident a "misunderstanding" and indicates that there were "no drugs or alcohol" involved.

Those that think that Alec Baldwin has a drug or alcohol problem are mistaking him with his brother Daniel. He's been a popular face on Dr. Drew Pinsky's "Celebrity Rehab," and his interactions with the other members of the cast have always been...interesting. Many think that the character is Alec, but really it's his younger brother.

When paramedics arrived, Baldwin was coherent. He wasn't "unresponsive", although he agreed to go in to get evaluated. The medics transported him to the hospital where he was observed and released.

The 911 call came after he and his daughter got in to an argument. Of course, the details of the argument haven't been released, although it's not all that surprising that he and his daughter had a disagreement.

CNM News Network recently reported on the Alec Baldwin hospital situation. The writer compared Baldwin's hospitalization to that of Rush Limbaugh. The point that she made was that celebrity hospital visits tend to drum up a lot of interest.

This analogy makes a lot of sense. If you think about it, the media tends to go overboard on every little detail of a celebrity's life. There are hundreds of thousands of people that seek treatment in a hospital each and every day. Many of these individuals aren't too much different from Baldwin, in that they don't come in with life threatening conditions.

In addition, the reports out there indicate that Baldwin was released within an hour. How many people have been to an emergency room in non-life threatening conditions and then been released within an hour? Exactly. I have personally been in an emergency room with a loved one with a potentially serious issue and have had to wait 3 hours just to see a doctor.

We are all glad that Baldwin is doing well. He will be at work on Thursday. "30 Rock" fans don't need to fret that their favorite actor will be MIA - he's just fine.
