Alex Lambert Online Petition Draws Thousands of Signatures

Should Alex Lambert Be Brought Back to American Idol?

Mary Zeiher
An Alex Lambert online petition has been generated by a fan from Baltimore, Maryland and it has garnered thousands of signatures already for Alex Lambert to return to American Idol. Will this Alex Lambert online petition really make a difference to American Idol producers?

Alex Lambert is the young, very nervous contestant on American Idol who was voted off American Idol last week as the Top 16 was whittled down to the Top 12. Alex Lambert openly cried as he showed his disappointment in being sent home from American Idol. Well fans of Alex Lambert are so upset at his removal from Idol that they have started an online petition to have Alex Lambert brought back onto American Idol.

At www.change.org Alex Lambert fan Jessica Bongiorno from Baltimore, Maryland has started the Alex Lambert online petition to bring Alex back onto American Idol. Last season on American Idol they surprised us when instead of a Top12 there was a Top 13, this petition mentions, "There were 13 finalists last year in order to keep Anoop in. DO IT AGAIN."

So Alex Lambert fans began signing within hours, within two hours there were four hundred signatures. As of this writing there are just over 10,000 signatures on the Alex Lambert online petition. The Alex Lambert online petition is to the attention of Fox.com, 19Entertainment, and Fremantle Media.

A part of the Alex Lambert online petition goes on to say:

"I've never seen such an uproar for ANY contestant to be put back in BEFORE even making it to top 12, until Alex. Quite frankly, this season of Idol has been a massive disappointment so far, and I'm sure that comes as no surprise to everyone running Idol. Then, the one person who people tuned in to actually see, is now gone. After seeing the complete disgust in pure talent having to leave the show, loyal fans and viewers of AI have officially decided to turn off the TV when it comes to further watching."

Alex Lambert fans are quite serious about their online petition. I admit that I am not a long time watcher of American Idol. It was just last season with Adam Lambert that caught my attention and kept me watching American Idol. So I continued to tune in this season to watch. I do not see the raw impressive talent in Alex Lambert that his fans do. He just seems like a very nervous young man that lacked self-confidence and needed to be sent home.

What do you think about this Alex Lambert online petition?

MediaCurves.com conducted a poll among 6,727 American Idol viewers' perceptions of which contestants should be eliminated from the top 8 guys during last weeks elimination. The results found that contestants with the lowest percentage of votes, who should be eliminated tonight, were Todrick Hall, with 5.1% of the votes, and Aaron Kelly, with 7.2% of the votes. Alex Lambert, who had 14.4% of the votes, was incorrectly eliminated from the show according to these results. The study will parallel American Idol voting to determine the weekly winners based on a democratic, "one person, one vote" methodology.

what's interesting to me is... even though some people didn't get to vote, myself included(which btw was because it was busy everytime i tried) w/ all the comments and people who did get to vote...how did he get booted off, he must have a huge fanbase..how does this happen..I don't understand.

Interesting. I don't watch the show so I'm not all that familiar with what is going on

Alex lambert has been the most talented person i've seen on idol in my years of watching it and i was extremely disappointed to see him go and i think if Idol does not bring him back they will lose more than the number of people who sign the petition.

it takes 2 minutes to sign a petition, I signed it along with many other petitions concerning the bigger more worldly issues. But I didn't mind taking out 2 minutes to help him.

I signed it. Probably won't get him back on the show, but it's worth it to try as Alex had the most unique voice of all the contestants.

I was really disapointed that Lambert was voted off. I think if he had made it through we would have seen some really great things out of him.. His confidence was growing and he really has an amazing, unique voice. Hopefully some recording studio will recognize that and take advantage of his fan following. Lots of Idol contestants make it big even thought they dont go far on the shoe.

I signed the petition. Season 9 has ended for me unless they bring back Alex. Seriously!

in fact, I hope that AI lets him back and then gives us the message that WE lose if we give up our chance to vote in favor of taping the program for later viewing
