Alexander McQueen was bon Lee Alexander McQueen in London, England on March 17, 1969. From an early age he had a creative disposition that led his to an apprenticeship with a tailor. He worked with a number of top tailors on Saville Row including Anderson and Shepphard and Gieves and Hawkes. He also worked for a time with the infamous costume designers Angels and Bermans. At the age of 20 McQueen explored the world and worked with international clothiers like Koji Tatsuno and Romeo Gigli. However, in 1994 McQueen finally went to design school where he earned a Master's Degree in fashion design. His graduation collection was bought by Isabella Blow, a famous stylist who helped to launch McQueen's career.
