Ali Lohan Scores a Modeling Contract, and Other Celebrity Little Sisters Who've Attained Solo Success

Marissa Brassfield

Ali Lohan, Lindsay's 17-year-old sister, has just signed with NEXT Model Management. Alexis Borges, the director of NEXT LA, said that the younger Lohan was chosen for her "chameleon-like beauty."

Ali isn't the only little sister to have stepped out of her famous sister's shadow and attain solo success in the entertainment industry. The following siblings are famous for their own merits -- not just due to their recognizable last name.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner

While Kendall and Kylie won't upstage big sis Kim on her upcoming wedding day, they have plenty of work in the fashion industry on the horizon. Kendall was the face of the MARCC Spring/Summer 2011 print ads earlier this year and just signed on to shoot the Leah Madden Summer 2012 campaign. Kylie, the baby of the family, modeled in her first shoot last winter for pro photog Nick Saglimbeni.

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey is a busy woman: she's half of the group She & Him and will appear in the Fox comedy "New Girl," which premieres Sept. 20. She also launched a women's comedy website, HelloGiggles.com, to address a niche she felt was underserved. As she explained to Self magazine, "There's a lot of dude comedy out there and not enough outlets for funny, creative girls, so my friends and I decided to build one."

Zooey's big sister Emily has played Dr. Temperance Brennan on "Bones" since 2005 and is a major champion of animal rights and vegetarianism.

Ashlee Simpson

Like her big sister Jessica, Ashlee also found success in the entertainment industry. We first got to know the younger Simpson sibling on her reality show, "The Ashlee Simpson Show," which aired between 2004 and 2005 and followed her nascent music career. Since then, she's released three albums, performed on Broadway as Roxie Hart in the theatrical production of "Chicago," and appeared on television shows such as "Melrose Place" and "CSI: NY." This fall, she'll be among the celebrity guest judges on the 17th cycle of "America's Next Top Model."

The Simpson sisters have also paired up for a tween clothing line to stand alongside Jessica's fashion empire. "My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion," Ashlee told Women's Wear Daily.

Elle Fanning

Elle is the latest face of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 ready-to-wear collection. In doing so, she follows in the footsteps of 17-year-old sister Dakota, who also began modeling for Marc Jacobs at 13 and is now starring in the ads for his signature Oh Lola perfume.

Most recently, Elle starred in "Super 8," which was produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by J.J. Abrams. At the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards, she nabbed the Film Actress of the Year Award, cementing her status in the entertainment industry.
