The album's first single, "No One" is proof. It has topped the charts and is in heavy rotation on the airwaves. The album has many other highlights as well. Alicia Keys has always sounded older, but this is her most mature album to date. She clearly has done a lot of growing since her last studio album, The Diary. The album has a magnificent retro-feel that music lovers across the globe will love.
Like you'll never see me again which sounds similar to Prince's Purple Rain, is another sure fire anthem. It is the second single and is sure to be a hit on the charts. Songwriter Linda Perry, who has penned tracks for, Christina, Celine, and Pink, has also given Alicia a fresh new sound. Keys and Perry co-wrote many of the albums tracks. The tracks have so much power. Her vocal performances are outstanding! She has created an album that depicts various aspects of love. She manages to balance strength and vulnerability. Few artists can accomplish this. This album doesn't even have filler. It is great music from beginning to end. Skipping a track would be a crime. Each song has tremendous potential to be a hit.
Alicia Keys gives hope to all of those rhythm and blues lovers out there. While her peers focus on branding, and guest appearances by rappers, Keys sticks to the basics. She is officially a force to be reckoned with. With this album, she has cemented her place in the pop music landscape. She isn't going anywhere anytime soon! This album is sure to be a hit over the holiday season, and it should also get plenty of Grammy Love in the near future.
