Alicia Keys Diet
She has said in numerous interviews that she doesn't eat meat or dairy. Now, after watching the documentary Food Inc, she has decided not to eat fast food either.
Although she no longer eats meat, dairy, or fast food, she does have a dieting weakness: bread. She explained, "Delicious, warm soft bread is an indulgence of mine."
Alicia says that she likes to eat foods that make her feel good afterward. This healthy attitude means she chooses healthier foods like almond milk, grilled fish, and spinach. She also has the habit of putting aloe vera in her juices.
Alicia Keys says she likes dieting cleanses to get her body back on track as long as they are done correctly and with discipline so the results are worth the experience.
She has had healthy eating habits for a long time now. As she says, "I've been a healthy eater for awhile. My friend's father had this incredibly candid conversation with me about food when I was about 12 and that changed everything."
Alicia Keys Workouts
Alicia recently told Ok! magazine about her usual workouts.
She trains with Josh Zitomer, the creator of myfitstream.com, who has also trained Jessica Simpson, Eva Mendes, John Mayer, Bono and Tobey Maguire. Alicia told the magazine that her most dreaded exercise with Josh is, The Ab Test. Josh explains the workout: "Lay down on your back, draw your knees towards your chest. Put the palms of your hands on the side of your head near your ears. Crunch up and touch your knee caps with your elbows. With your feet off the ground, elbows touching your knees and shoulder blades off the ground, roll into a ball. The key is to keep your elbows on your knee caps. Once in position, the trainer holds and pulls on the knees."
That exercise is just one of the routine Josh uses for Alicia Keys. She also runs a lot and uses other forms of cardio to prevent boredom. To mix it up she does biking, rowing, and treadmill work.
To make her workouts fly by, Alicia Keys listens to good music. She likes a variety in the workout music just like her exercise, and listens to things like MGMT, Biggie, Jay-Z, Bob Sinclair and Roy Ayers.
