Alicia Keys Pregnant with First Child

According to Alicia Keys' representative, the 29 year old starling is pregnant with her first child and engaged to producer Swizz Beatz. It seems as though the time could not be more perfect for the dazzling beauty as she is renowned; Alicia is the recipient of multiple Grammys and continues to sell well past her emergence in 2001 with hit album Songs in A Minor. She not only fares well in music but also in acting as seen in such films as "Secret life of Bees" and "Smokin' Aces." Alicia Keys is also a Philanthropist and is the Global Ambassador and co-founder of Keep a Child Alive; an organization that provides medicines to families in Africa with HIV/AIDS.

This pregnancy has many wondering if this was the smartest choice for the starlet to make; as the producer Swizz Beatz has just went through an emotional divorce with R&B singer Mashonda that was finalized in May 2010, and he is also father to two young children. His ex-wife,Mashonda has expressed her discontent with the couple's relationship for some time now stating that Swizz Beatz had an affair with Alicia Keys during their marriage. Mashonda states that his affair was influential in their divorce. Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have remained mum as to whether they were romantically involved during Swizz's marriage to Mashonda.

Fans from all over have already stated their outpours of congratulations and discontentment towards the singer. Some fans can not be happier for Alicia, stating that the two will make beautiful, talented babies. Other fans remain befuddled as to why Alicia Keys has chosen Swizz Beatz as her future spouse. They feel as though that given Swizz Beatz's history that she could have done much better. A significant portion of fans feel as though Alicia Keys has betrayed them because her image and lyrics have always been that of women empowerment but they feel as though Alicia has played a major role in the dismantling of a family foundation. It is true that Alicia Keys is taking on plenty of baggage with this new relationship but the only thing that matters is that she is happy and she seems to be glowing.

Whether their relationship stands will be a test of time and we will have to wait and see.
