Alien Agent is a pretty good B-movie. I might be biased though because I watched it right after watching In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale so I am pretty sure at that point I would have even found D-War to be good. Alien Agent has a pretty typical storyline: aliens want to take over our planet since there planet is dying. The aliens look just like us since they invade our bodies with their life force. Of course they have supernatural strength and the power to regenerate. One alien even has psychic abilities when it suits her (and the plot). And to cinch the predictable storyline, our hero is an alien with a conscious and a cute annoying sidekick. The plot maybe predictable but it is still enjoyable.
Mark Dacascos was great at showing off his marital art skills. Unfortunately the director didn't give him the greatest lines in the world and very minimal lines at that. Now that I think about it, I am not for sure if he even talked. I just remember that his annoying tag-along Julie, played by Emma Lahana couldn't keep her mouth shut. I found her obvious lusting after Rykker disturbing since she looked so young. The director also threw in a completely useless shower scene just so he could get Emma naked. I am now even more disturbed now that I realize Emma Lahana also played the yellow ranger from Power Rangers Dinothunder. Thank goodness our hero was smart enough to stay away from the jailbait since he was too busy pining away for Isis, played by Amelia Cooke.
My only complaint with the movie was the lack of Billy Zane. The DVD box cover sure gave the impression that he was a main character but he wasn't in the movie for more then five minutes and barely said more then a sentence in his few scenes. The director was too busy showcasing Isis and all of her tattoos.
I also didn't like the ending. Julie thinks Rykker has made it back to his home world but actually the portal didn't work so now he is stuck on Earth. Instead of tracking Julie down, he hunts down more renegade aliens. Perhaps he is just passing the time until Julie matures a little. It seemed like the producer's were leaving it open for a sequel or maybe a Sci-Fi Channel TV series. I give the movie 3 out of 5 stars.
