Those of you who know me well know that I'm always up for a good science fiction film. I love sci-fi. When I located the movie "Alien Agent" and read its synopsis, I had high hopes for the film. Unfortunately, those hopes were not to be realized.
"Alien Agent" deals with two contingents of an alien race that supposedly "seeded" the Earth with life in the beginning. Now, a faction of the race wants to take over the planet and enslave mankind or kill those who refuse to comply.
Another faction of the race, however, doesn't believe in interference. They send one of their lawmen to track down the bad guys and prevent them from completing the wormhole link between Earth and their planet.
The alien lawman - - Rykker (played by Mark Dacascos) - - is good as his job and has managed to keep the alien invaders from taking over in the past. However, now that their numbers are stronger and they are closer to reaching their goal, he is worried that he might not be able to stop the invasion.
Saylon (played by Billy Zane) proves to be a formidable opponent, especially with Rykker's ex, Isis (played by Amelia Cooke) on his side. Together the two seem almost certain to defeat their competitor and take over Earth.
However, the contingent makes a critical error when they blindly kill the guardians of one of Rykker's friends, a young girl named Julie (played by Emma Lahana). With Julie determined to get his back Rykker begins to fight back with renewed strength and vigor.
Who will win: Two powerful aliens with an army behind them or a determined alien with a human being set on revenge? You'll have to check out the movie if you want the answer to that question.
The acting in this film isn't very good. Not even Zane, who is well known for his villainous role in "Titanic" seems to be hitting on all cylinders. There is nothing believable in his performance or anyone else's.
The screenplay, penned by Vlady Pildysh could have had real possibilities had it been placed in the right hands. Unfortunately, it was not. Director, Jesse Johnson, and a myriad of actors did nothing to bring the characters to life or make the audience care about what was happing in the film.
There are B rated sci-fi movies that I love like "The 27th Day" or even "20 Million Miles to Earth." There is something about those films that is redeeming. Unfortunately, "Alien Agent" simply doesn't fit into that category. It is just plain bad, so I have to give it 0 out of five stars.
"Alien Agent" is 95 minutes and length. It comes from Alien Films.

- The lead actor, Mark Dacascos, is clearly unprepared to carry a movie on his shoulders.
