Alien Encounter in the Arizona Desert

Diane
My dad, Robert, was traveling in his Chevy truck, with a cab over camper on the back, south out of Las Vegas, Nevada, in August 1976. He stopped for the night in the desert north of Kingman, Arizona. He pulled off the road and parked between two large boulders with a cactus towering over the nose of the truck.

He prepared his dinner, had a highball, and went to bed. At some point during the night, he had what he thought was an unusual dream. He awoke surrounded by a bright light which he described as being the color of swiss cheese. He also described a feeling of having the questioning mind of a child. He said he kept repeating, over and over, these questions;

"What is that light?"
" Who are you?"
" Why am I here?"

The next morning, he awoke early as usual, made his breakfast, and got dressed. When he reached for his watch, a new Bulova he'd purchased in Las Vegas, he noticed that the second hand on the watch was racing around at an abnormally fast speed. Annoyed, he resolved to get it fixed when he got back to his home in Houston, Texas.

When he exited the camper, the door hit a large cactus. The same cactus which was at the front of the truck the night before. Now he's questioning his sanity. He had one highball, was not drunk, and can't understand how this has happened. He's positive that he pulled the truck off the road nose first. He checked the tire tracks in the sand and there is one set of tracks. No indication that the truck had been backed in.

When he unlocks the cab, he is shocked by a powerful static charge. Vivid blue sparks jump from his finger tips to the metal of the truck. He jumps back, cursing his surprise. He gets in, fires up the motor, and drives into Kingman. He has the truck gassed up and has a short conversation with the owner of the gas station. When he shook the mans hand, once again the static charge produced vivid blue sparks, and the man jumped back accusing my Dad of trying to electrocute him.

Robert continues his drive back to Houston where he resumes his job with the oil company. It took over a week for the static electricity to dissipate. The Bulova watch finally wound down and was not repairable.

A month or so later Robert met his neighbor. A retired Air Force Colonel, who after a few conversations revealed that he had worked on Project Blue Book. Over drinks one night Robert told his story to the Colonel.

The Colonel told him that he had been examined. They took his whole rig. When it was returned, their mistake, was that they did not put it back exactly where they took it from. That was why there was only one set of tire tracks leading off the road.

Do I believe in Alien visitation, and abduction? I believe that my Dad had an unusual experience in the desert. I believe that he believes in his experience.

    I live in Kingman and we have seen a lot of unusual lights in the night sky. I recently did an article about one of our experiences.
