Even though the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center costs $2500, it offers many specs that most people would love to experience. The Alienware Hangar18 Media Center..With a 2TB hard drive, integrated slot-loading Blu-ray/DVD/CD burner and a 4GB of RAM , the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center gives you the ability to experience great videos as well as pictures. A lot of people love to stream their videos through Lynksys 802.11. But unfortunately the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center doesn't come with the Lynksys 802.11 but there is an upgraded version, which you can buy for $5000. I personally didn't find that feature all that serious so I stuck with the Alienware Haagar18 Media Center.
The Alienware Hangar 18 Media Center comes with a tuner card, (one for digital/Hd and one for analog). The one thing I like about the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center is that you can upgrade the Tuner card slots up to four slots.
Another feature that I liked about the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center is that you can watch live television while recording up to three programs. I thought that this feature was absolutely neat. Even though you can get this same device from your current cable provider, The difference is you will never have to give the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center back.
The only thing I wasn't really liking about the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center is that it doesn't have many input ports. It has all the out put ports you can possible get but not many input ports. I utilize the input ports more than I do the output ports. The inputs/outputs the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center has are the HDMI with HDCP,S-Video out, Component, Optical audio out, 5 speaker audio out, with dedicated subwoofer port, Composite in, and Stereo audio in.
Despite the fact that the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center doesn't have many inputs, it does come with four USB ports, gigabit Ethernet, B/G wireless and one firewire.
The Alienware Hangar18 Media Center has a 250 GB hard drive and is powered by AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor, and has up to 4GB ram
My all time favorite feature that Alienware Hangar18 Media Center is that it is capable of turning into a gaming system, I think that is the neatest feature. When it comes to the games that I have on my personal PC, I can actually stream my games through the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center. The Alienware Hangar18 Media Center has a general Video gaming card so you aren't going to get great effects from 3D games. You are getting basic graphics.
Now even though the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center has wonderful features it has a horrible sound system. Which was extremely disappointing to me, considering how much I paid for it. Just this feature alone made me not want the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center any longer.
Other than the minor gliches that Alienware Hangar18 Media Center possessed, I think that it's a great device to have apart of your theatre system. The price is a bit steep but for the most part, I like the way the Alienware Hangar18 Media Center works.
