Aliph's Jawbone Prime: New Bluetooth Technology Review

Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headsets have been at the forefront of style, and the newest model coming from them, the Jawbone Prime, is no exception. This device offers noise cancellation, stylish colors, and a sleek design.

The Jawbone Prime is the new addition to Aliph's previous headset the Jawbone Bluetooth

The Prime has two buttons on the top of the device and on the face. These buttons: act as an on and off switch, allows the users to modify the volume between five different levels, search for nearby devices to pair up with, as well as do other functions. Small indentations allow the user to easily find the buttons.

The Prime offers an improvement in quality compared to its predecessors. Aliph calls this new technology NoiseAssassin 2.0, which features a sensor that can adjust and detect any wind-related noise. (The tip of the Prime should be touching your face for optimal results, however Aliph states that the technology is built so that the call quality will not drop significantly if it does lose contact.) I have used the Jawbone Prime in many different and noisy situations. The people who have received my phone calls have said they heard me very clearly and while the background noise was noticeable it was quite muted.

The Jawbone Prime does not only look good and work well, but it is being marketed with the fact that all ears are not built the same. Aliph has equipped the Prime with 6 ear bud tips of different variations, bundled together with an ear loop for anyone who so chooses to use it. I thought that I would feel more comfortable with the ear loop, but I was surprised to find that the ear bud fit me extremely well.

The Jawbone Prime offers a variety of appealing colors. Several bright colors they offer include red, yellow, purple, and green. Other more toned down versions include platinum, brown, and black.

However the Jawbone Prime does come with a few cons. With a total talk time of four and a half hours, the Prime offers less talk time then many other Bluetooth headsets out in the market today. The good news is that it took me less than an hour to get back to full battery when recharging the Prime. Still, for the businessmen out there the extra hour or so that other models offer could be vital.

In conclusion, Aliph's Jawbone Prime is a great headset offering a sleek design combined with great noise reduction technology. For those who don't mind a lacking battery life, this is a great pick.
