Alive Forevermore!

Pete Macinta
They watched Him suffer and they saw Him die.
The death of their Messiah vexed them sore.
But soon their grief had turned to great joy,
When they saw Him alive forevermore,

Two sullen men walked along the road
When a Stranger asked what heaviness they bore.
But soon their tearful eyes would see
Their Lord Christ was alive forevermore.

His disciples communed and dined with Him,
Their Friend and King Whom they would adore.
Relaxed and at peace in His presence sure
To know He was alive forevermore.

"I go fishing," Peter said. Others followed too.
They caught nothing, but when they viewed the shore,
The Savior bid them to "come and dine,"
Because He is alive forevermore.

John when banished to Patmos so drear,
Saw the visage of His risen Savior
Who said, "I am He that lives and was dead.
Behold I am alive forevermore."

And millions more have had this joy.
I, too, when I came and knelt before
This One Who took my sin and my shame
For sure He is alive forevermore.

Want to be free from sin and from death,
And bound by their fear nevermore?
Leave them behind. Embrace the Good Shepherd,
For indeed He's alive forevermore!
