All My Children Needs Some Zest and Drama

I have been a long fan of the daytime drama All My Children. My interest in the show began when Adam Chandler decided to put Dixie in the nut house so that he could have their son JR all to himself. As disturbing as that plot seems, it was an intense one and very well written. On top of that the acting was passionate and you couldn't help but believe that these individuals in Pine Valley were real.

Well many years later, so many that JR has a son of his own and falls in line with his father's path, the soap has seemed to have lost its stamina. I do still watch the soap but not every day, sometimes I can watch the soap on a Monday and tune in the following week and I have not missed much in story development. I feel that the writes need to make the plots more realistic and stop dragging the same situations into the mud. For example, how many times will Kendall fall back into the arms with Aiden, Ryan or Zack? I get that she is Erica Kane's daughter and apparently she's going to have the same issues as her mother with commitment but could we maybe see other character's stories too so that we are not oversaturated with the Kendall-Zack-Greenlee-Ryan plot. Also this brother Richie plot is a bit boring. It took forever for is to learn about this guy and his anger towards Annie just doesn't add up. Yes, I get the fact that he spent so many years of his life in prison because of her life, but really if this Richie guy is such a sociopath then why isn't there any action behind the madness. I mean at least during the days of Billy Clyde Tuggel, the best manic character AMC created; there were explosions, kidnappings and murder. With Richie we get minor threats.

Basically, I hope that the writers reevaluate their storylines by adding m ore plots and creativity. How about giving those teen characters a real story line (remember the days of the young Mateo and Haley) and go from there. Again, I will most likely always be an AMC fan but sometimes it is hard to admit that fact.

nice well things will get interesting since Jesse Hubbard came back from the dead. Other wise, I agree too. Do Annie and Ryan have to smooch each other every five minutes? Give me a brea.. One of the main reasons soaps like All mY children lack pizazz is becaasue the lack of screen time given to veteran actors.
