All My Children Set to Air Last Episode Friday September 23, 2011
All My Children” is and Always Will Be in the Hearts of Soap Fans Everywhere
Soap Opera "All My Children" air its last episode Friday September 23, 2011 and many fans feel they're losing members of their own family. It sounds ridiculous to feel that way but when you've watched the show since its debut over 40 years ago, its no wonder fans feel betrayed and lost. Numerous individuals feel betrayed by ABC for cancelling a soap opera that's been a part of homes for many years.
Before being able to set DVR's there were VCR's individuals set a timer for to ensure not one episode of "All My Children" was lost. Not one person wanted to miss an episode of Tad and Dixie Martin or an Erica Kane wedding. How many times has Erica Kane married? Unbelievably Erica married 10 times. Will she and Jack marry before the show ends Friday? Guess viewers will have to wait and see.
The way "All My Children" is ending it looks like David Hayward may have a heart after all. Especially since Cara Castillo is having his baby. I didn't see that one coming since she was so infatuated with Tad Martin. However, it would be a wonderful change to see a softer side of David.
"All My Children" is and always will be in the hearts of soap fans everywhere. It's such a shame to see this go off air after all the tears, joy, happiness and sadness that fans followed through the years. Many of the story lines hit home for many viewers or at the least touched some part of their soul.
Story lines like cancer, tornado's, loss of a child, spouse or parent, weddings that made you cry for joy, or Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with friends, family and even enemies touched so many lives in many different ways. It don't matter what individuals thought of soaps, this one show had dedicated viewers. Fans watched day in and day out.
For individuals that worked VCR's or DVR's taped on for that one hour so the faithful viewer could watch when they arrived home after a long day at work. In a way, "All My Children" took time out to give a bit of joy to people whom might not other wise have it in their daily lives. How? It's not a far stretch to understand. For many it's a way to get out of real life and obtain some down time and joys along the way.
Pine Valley will live on forever in our hearts, gone but never forgotten. "All My Children" airs its last episode Friday September 23, 2011 at 1pm, Eastern but will live on forever as a memory and soap opera cut to short. How do you feel about "All My Children" and the cancellation of a great soap opera? Leave comments or memories you have of this wonderful show.

That's tragic... I agree with Susan Lucci.... now all I have is real life... :)
This show has been a part of my families life for over 36 years. I dont believe the ratings are bad. Just as Susan Lucci has said it is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!! I doubt the CHEW will are for 41 years. ABC should be ashamed of itself!!!!!!!!!!!
