All New Christmas Music for 2010

Tis the season...for a whole new set of Christmas music releases! This year, several musical artists are releasing all new holiday themed albums, with some all new songs as well as new renditions of Christmas classics. Here are some highlights:

Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas II You

Sixteen years after releasing one of the most successful modern-day Christmas albums, Mariah Carey is back with another set of Christmas favorites plus a brand new track, "Oh, Santa." Some of the newest renditions of holiday classics to appear on the album include "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", "The First Noel", "Auld Lang Syne" and a festive reworking of her 1994 Christmas smash, "All I Want for Christmas is You." Glee- A Very Glee Christmas

The ever popular Gleesters have released an all new set of Christmas covers, including "O Christmas Tree", "Jingle Bells", "Last Christmas", and more. Music superstar k.d. lang appears on the album performing "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" with Glee cast member Matthew Morrison. Check out a preview of the Christmas episode and album here. Susan Boyle - The Gift

British singing phenom Susan Boyle will be releasing her second album, a follow-up to the hugely successful "I Dreamed a Dream." "The Gift" is being billed as a "seasonal collection of holiday songs and inspirational pop covers", including Lou Reed's "Perfect Day", Crowded Houses "Don't Dream it's Over", Leonard Cohen's "Halleluiah", and Christmas classics like "O' Holy Night", "The First Noel", and more. Annie Lennox - A Christmas Cornucopia

Former Eurythmics lead singer Annie Lenox makes her first attempt at a holiday album, with personal interpretations of eleven traditional holiday songs, as well as a new original tune called "Universal Child." Check it out here . You can buy it here.

Now That's What I Call Christmas 4 - Various Artists

The popular CD series "Now That's What I Call..." is back with an all new set of holiday songs from some of today's hottest stars, including "A Child is Born" by Rihanna, "Silver Bells" by Martina McBride, "Christmas Tree" by Lady GaGa and much, much more. Pink Martini - Joy to the World

    Great reporting. BTW, only about half the songs on the Susan Boyle album are Christmas carols.

    Good reviews. Funny how so many people produce Christmas albums, and people keep on buying them. You could have a Christmas party that featured 50 versions of Jingle Bells. That might be original.
