Curious as to Why All the Familiar Faces Are Now Cartoon Characters? Find Out Why Here
According to the Facebook page Change your profile picture to a cartoon character campaign "66,601 People Like This" and that's the people who took the time to click the like button. There are many more who have changed their avatar without pressing "like", so I'd say that's some kind of awareness going on.
Just remember when you see these characters what it is really about. Maybe it will even inspire some people to help in other ways like volunteering or donating to charities who help these innocent, helpless children.

I have observed that. I just have not been able to get into that cartoon character.
I sometimes feel as if I live in a cartoon, but that's beside the point. I believe that anything that brings awareness and encourages participation in a worthy cause, even if it's something as silly as creating a cartoon character for yourself.
Through the nostalgia of cartoons, many adults remembered what it was like to be a child.
I had wondered what was going on. I even asked a FB friend and she wasn't entirely sure!
I didn't know that's why people were doing this. Great idea.
