All About National Hugging Day: Who Are the Most Huggable People?

Did you know National Hugging Day was January 21st? Each year new winners of National Hugging Day are announced and tons of hugs are exchanged.

The most huggable people of 2010 are:

The unknown creator of the "Hug Me" image that was created for National Cuddle Day which grew out of the Hugging Day.

Jeff Ondash also known as "Teddy McHuggin, Ohio" who is in the Guinness World Book of Records for the most hugs in an hour.

Jody Hagedorn, also known as the hug lady is a Certified Reflexologist and Professional Encourager, from Eau Claire, WI. She hugs every she meets and does public speaking that includes lots of hugs and hug facts.

National Hugging Day isn't exactly a national holiday as such a thing requires and act of congress, which hasn't happened. Still, the day has been copyrighted. National Hugging Day began in 1986. It was the brainstorm of Rev. Kevin Zaborney from Caro, Michigan. He is known for greeting his students with a hug. He also created National Whiners Day. On national hugging day, hugging is supposed to be used as a form of sharing. It is to be considered as non-sexual, Most of us have a little person inside who needs human contact in this stainless steel, computerized society where we are kept at arms length. Consider hugging as non-sexual, and akin to a handshake or a high-five. On National Hugging Day, a good hug should be used to warm relationships between people and lend to a universal meaning of support, and concern.

It is customary for Most Huggable people to be named every year at the National Hugging Day website. Here are some of the more notable huggers of in previous years.

In 2009, President Barack Obama and Family, were on the list as the most huggable first family. They have been noticed freely and openly hugging each other throughout the election campaign. Eight year old Robby Jackson of Flaggstaff, Arizona as also on the must huggable list due to his campaign to bring ""Robby's National Hug Day" to his school. Edna Hazlet of Fredericktown, PA was nominated by fellow church members. She apparently takes passing the peace seriously. It is said of Ms. Hazlet, "All your troubles seem to float away with her arms around you." Andrea Mumford, Baton Rouge, LA has also been named one of the most huggable of 2009. Her coworkers report that "she is always smiling and laughing,
