Canker sores are ulcers that occur in the mouth. Some say canker sores are caused by damaged tissue in the mouth. Others say that canker sores are a direct result of deficiencies in the body.

For sufferers of canker sores, it is important to find a way to relieve the constant pain that is sometimes more intense due to eating, drinking or even talking. Here are several all natural cures for canker sores that do not involve mixing and measuring.

Veggies

A friend told me that one of the most natural cures for canker sores is to eat some green bell pepper. There is supposed to be an enzyme in the bell pepper that speeds up the healing of the canker sore. This is also one cure that is not bad for you.

Take a chunk of raw onion and rub it on the canker sore for at least five minutes. This is another very natural cure, because it does not include any additives. For an even more natural variation, buy an organic onion to do the job. The onion will help to speed up the healing process. Be advised that the application may be uncomfortable for the canker sore sufferer.

Homeopathic Borax Tablets

Visit your natural/health food stores and purchase a bottle of homeopathic borax tablets. You simply have to follow the directions on the bottle for the correct dosage and usually within a day, the canker sore will have vanished.

Toothpaste

One of the best cures available to those who believe the all natural method is better is to purchase a tube of tea tree oil & ginger toothpaste. While brushing your teeth with this natural toothpaste, you will also find that it aids in getting rid of bothersome canker sores. It is also a very good deterrent to aid in the prevention of canker sores.

Mouthwashes

You can take wild oregano oil, which you can purchase at a health food store, dilute it by 50 percent with water and swish the solution in the mouth for about two minutes. The pain disappears almost instantaneously, and the canker sore will soon follow.

Aloe Vera juice used as a rinse in the mouth 2-3 times a day is another all-natural cure for canker sores. It relieves the pain and it also helps to speed up the healing process.

Apple cider vinegar is another rinse that helps to heal canker sores. You can rinse the mouth using the apple cider vinegar 2-3 times a day or you can saturate a cotton swab with it and lay it on the canker sore.

Plum juice used as a mouthwash is another great all natural cure for canker sores. Swish a small amount of the juice in the mouth. For deeper or more painful canker sores, soak a cotton ball in the juice and rub it on the canker sore.

Goldenseal

Powered Goldenseal can aid in curing a canker sore by applying it directly to the sore. However, I have found that if you take the liquid Goldenseal version of the product and apply it to the canker sore, it heals in almost half the time.

Though all of these remedies are natural, it is important to make sure that you are not allergic to any of the suggested items before proceeding with these cures.
