All Natural Fluoride-Free Toothpastes for Toddlers and Kids

Vanessa Bartlemus
Many parents have a problem finding toothpastes they feel comfortable with their kids using. Most toothpastes made for children have saccharin, an artificial sweetener, in them, as well as other unwanted ingredients. Also, for a young toddler who is just learning to brush their teeth it is important to use a toothpaste that is fluoride-free and safe if swallowed. Here are some all-natural, artificial sugar free, fluoride-free toothpaste choices that your kids are sure to love.

Weleda Children's Tooth Gel- This toothpaste includes organic calendula extract to help soothe gums while
brushing. Calendula is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Natural silica is also added to clean both teeth and gums. There are no artificial colors or flavors. This all natural toothpaste is not overly sweet but still has a pleasant taste to it.

JASON Kids Only! Toothpaste- These come in two kid-friendly flavors: Strawberry and Orange. The strawberry toothpaste is flavored using natural strawberry flavor and the orange toothpaste is flavored using natural orange oil. The essence of the fruit flavors is there without being overly sweet. This toothpaste is free of fluoride, sulfates, and saccharin. There are no artificial colors or flavors. It protects teeth with calcium carbonate. This toothpaste is great for kids with celiac disease as it is wheat and gluten free.

Earth's Best Toddler Toothpaste- This preservative and fluoride free toothpaste is strawberry banana flavored, and naturally sweetened with xylitol. This toothpaste is certified Kosher. It cleans using calcium lactate, which helps prevent tooth decay. The toothpaste comes with a free gum brush which can be used on your baby. The toothpaste is recommended for ages 6 months to 3 years old.

Tom's of Maine Fluoride-Free Children's Toothpaste- Available in Silly Strawberry flavor, this fluoride free toothpaste uses both calcium and silica to help clean teeth. Calcium carbonate is a mild abrasive, and hydrated silica assists with stain removal. It is flavored with natural fruit extracts from strawberries, bananas, and other natural flavors. It's safe if swallowed. However, it does contain sodium lauryl sulfate, an ingredient some parents feel is not safe for their children. There is also a fluoride version of this children's toothpaste.
