All Natural Melatonin for Headaches/Migraines

April
I have been using Melatonin for a few weeks now. I have tried so many over the counter, prescription and natural supplements to relieve my headaches. Nothing really seemed to work though. Needless to say, I have spent a lot of money on these medications and supplements plus doctor visits.

I was pretty much at the end of my rope since this migraine condition developed about two years ago. It got to the point where I could not drive for a few months. This made it even more expensive for me since I had to take cabs to work for months. I did some research and I discovered Melatonin a little too late. I think it may have helped me if I took it a lot sooner. I had read that this was good for preventing headaches so I wanted to try it. For a while I was looking for a natural pain reliever for my headaches. For the short amount of time that I have been taking it, I do see a difference.

Melatonin is a natural substance made in the brain from the pineal gland. This gland makes melatonin as night time occurs and then goes away during the day. Melatonin spreads throughout our blood stream and makes us tired. Why this helps to relieve headaches remains a bit of a mystery to me, but whatever I hear may work, I am willing to give a try. I have seen somewhat of a difference since I have been taking this. I do seem to have less frequent headaches, so this product may be good for a migraine/headache condition.

Melatonin is also good for other conditions. It helps you to sleep well and helps regulate women's reproductive hormones. It can also help keep your body temperature normal. It is known as an antioxidant that can be very good for your immune system. It has also been used for tiredness and for people who are irritable.

Melatonin is not very expensive compared to other natural supplements. I spent about $12 for 200 tablets. Each tablet contains 1mg of melatonin. The one that my holistic doctor recommended was Melatonin Sublingual. You take three tablets right before you go to bed at night. You put them under your tongue and they dissolve right into your blood stream. The tablets have an orange flavor that is tasty.
