The Phoenix Art Museum is located at 1625 North Central Avenue, in Phoenix Arizona, and it can be reached by telephone by calling 602-257-1880 during normal business hours, or at their 24-hour recorded information line at 602-257-1222. You can also visit them online at www.phxart.org, where you will find more information on the museum in general and even events and exhibitions that will be going on.

Its hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 10am to 9pm, and they are closed on Mondays and on select holidays. The cost to go in is $9 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and full-time students who can show their student ID, $3 for children ages 6-17, and free for children under 6 years old. All museum members are allowed to visit the museum for free at any time, and on Thursdays the doors are opened to everyone without cost.

My Experience At The Art Museum
Last year while visiting my close friend in Phoenix, who happens to be an artsy type of girl, we went for a visit to the Phoenix Art Museum. She said she needed inspiration because her life was not going the way she wanted it to be. I didn't understand how going to an art museum could inspire someone who was having that sort of problem, but by the end of the day, I knew exactly why she went there when she was feeling this way. My favorite part about the Phoenix Art Museum was definitely the architecture of the building. Just by looking at it from the outside I knew I was going to feel inspired. Once we were inside I was given the grand tour from my friend, who was a regular at the museum.

Although they have art works ranging from American, Asian, European, to Latin American, modern and contemporary, and Western American and fashion art, my favorite kind of art were some of the Latin works.

Nearby Restaurants & Coffee Shops
Close to the Phoenix Art Museum you will find some of the most common fast-food restaurants, such as McDonald's, and Burger King. You will also find a couple of fancy restaurants and even a Starbucks. They are all within walking distance, however the one café and restaurant that you don't want to miss is the Art Museum Café inside of the art museum, and the Arcadia Farms which serves delicious casual food.

This is a place where you can purchase delicious food for adults, children, and even families. They serve sandwiches, salads, desserts, and they even have a children menu. Make sure to present your museum membership card if you have one, and you will be given a discount every time. The Art Museum Café is open during normal museum hours from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. The kitchen closes at 3pm though, but pastries, desserts, and of course drinks are available till closing time.

Parking Information
Parking at the museum is free. You will also have barrier-free-access and it is located extremely close to the museum so you won't have to walk much. Handicapped parking is also available for free.

The Museum Store
This is a "must" stop at place when in the Phoenix Art Museum. Here you will always find great gifts for anyone who is into art, and you will even find great goodies to remind you of your visit to the art museum. They have posters, charms, cards, books, and even gift certificates that you can buy. My favorite part about The Museum Store, is that you can purchase great things for under $10. By going to the Phoenix Art Museum website, you will find a link to the store, where you can search through their inventory, if you would like to go in looking for something already. You should also know that if you make a purchase at the store, you will be paying no state sales tax, and museum members get special discounts too!
