All that Remains Plays Sold Out Show at the Machine Shop...On A Monday!

Mondays are usually not considered a prime concert night and particularly not the Monday after the Super Bowl. However, this past Monday metalcore group All That Remains not only rocked The Machine Shop in Flint but sold the place out!

With the venue's tables moved off the floor, there was not a inch of space that was not filled by the many rock fans who came out to see the high energy band along with openers It Lies Within and The Damned Things.

From the start of the show until the end there was a high energy radiating not only on stage but throughout the crowd.

The Machine Shop venue is known for having a laid back crowd atmosphere but this time everyone seemed to be into the music and were headbanging, jumping and moshing along.

Flint's own It Lies Within started the evening off with a short set that did a decent job of getting the crowd into things and ready for the larger acts.

Heavy metal supergroup The Damned Things were up next and were pretty impressive playing a number of songs off of their debut album Ironiclast.

The group features Fall Out Boy members Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley, Anthrax members Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano and Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley and Josh Newton.

The band has a nice mix of classic rock and heavy metal in the Anthrax and Every Time I Die vain with the poppy hooks that Fall Out Boy was known for.

The band's energy and unique sound easily made them a crowd favorite and certainly inspired me to want to see them again.

With that rocking lead up, All That Remains took the stage and found themselves in front of a fired up crowd.

Vocalist Phillip Labonte has one of those versatile voices that moves between the growling he does on the heavier songs to the cleaner melodic vocals that the band has moved towards over the last couple of album with a ease and flow that seems to be natural.

The band moved through a mix of old and new songs that included "For We Are Many", "The Air That I Breathe", "Forever In Your Hands" and "Six".

However, it was their performance of crowd favorites "This Calling" and "Some of the People, All of the Time" as well as "Hold On", the first single off of their latest album For We Are Many, that really stood out.
