The Silky Terrier was originally developed in 19th century Australia from other breeds, primarily the Yorkshire Terrier and the Australian Terrier. American servicemen brought Silky Terriers home with them after the war was over. The Silky Terrier is a loving companion dog, but can be pretty skilled at catching rodents if trained to do so.

I have a silky (Pinch) he's a handful, but he offers a lot of love. Quick to bark at anything that isn't "normal" in his world. Keep them active and around other. That's the best thing you can do!
