All the Things to Be Thankful For

Thank You 2009, It's Been a Good One

R F
It is hard to believe that another year has slipped right through my fingers. Looking back on 2009 there are so many memories that we have made, some good and some better off forgotten. We started out 2009 sitting on edge over the economic conditions. Now the year is coming to an end, gas prices are lower and things are starting to look up. Making it through tough times always helps me appreciate what I have more than ever. For instance, in the state of South Carolina, 2009 held alarming unemployment rates and for that I am grateful I have made it through the year holding on to my job the entire way.

I may not enjoy going in to work every day, but I know I would like it far less if there were no job to report to. I am thankful for my employment because it allows me to keep the roof over my family's heads. We are ever so grateful for the home that we are able to keep to protect us from the rain and ill weather. At the same time we remain thankful for that rain because it feeds our gardens that provide us with food to put on our table. We are abundantly thankful for the food that we are able to provide for our family, knowing that others are not so fortunate and that it helps us stay healthy. Of course we are thankful for our health, although sicknesses seem to drag us down sometimes we are all leaving 2009 flu-free and with strong hearts.

I am most thankful for the health that my family does have because it lets me know that 2010 will start off on the right foot as far as we can control it. We hope that those we have helped with food and prayers throughout this past year have at least that much to be thankful for. May the next year hold many opportunities and good fortune for all.
