Allegiant Airlines Review - Circus Circus Package

PJ Richards
Allegiant Airlines makes regular, almost daily, non-stop flights to Orlando, Gulfport, Tampa Bay and Vegas. They frequently offer special rates and incentives. In addition to transportation, they offer packages that include lodging.

I came across Allegiant's website when trying to find an affordable way to fly to Vegas. I started with Travelocity and Orbitz. I checked the rates of various airline companies flying out of Springfield, Missouri. Allegiant's rates really stood out.

I checked and double checked. Allegiant's package deal for Vegas was better than those offered on Travelocity and Orbitz. Unfortunately, while I was double checking, my first choice of Allegiant airfare-lodging package sold out.

I had to choose a different package deal. I chose Circus Circus and booked tickets and rooms. I paid the few extra bucks to choose seating. The Springfield-Branson regional Airport is a nice little airport. Going through security was the usual and customary ritual.

The flight was not full. There were just enough empty seats scattered around to make us feel less crowded. The leg room was standard, not quite as bad as I expected it might be.

Several of the passengers aboard the plane were regulars who made the trip often. They tended to recognize one another and the flight crew members. The flight was long but not unpleasant. There was plenty of pleasant conversation going on while we were in flight.

The Vegas regulars offered advice on what to see, where to eat and what to avoid. Those who wished to participate in a gambling game tossed a dollar into a bag that was passed around. One lucky winner won the bag of bills.

Once in Vegas, we utilized the shuttle services to get to Circus Circus. I had upgraded our rooms to tower rooms. The standard included "motor lodge" room made me think of the old hotels that were once called motor lodges.

My fear was realized. As a terrific bell boy carried our luggage into the room and gave us plenty of welcome advice on what to see in Vegas, I saw the motor lodge rooms across the street. They were nothing more than rooms in a renovated motor lodge.

Our King bed tower room was spacious, clean and attractive. We slept so great on the bed that we had to know what brand of bed the hotel used. Other family members stayed at Caesar's Palace. It was quite fun to realize our room not only was less expensive than their room, it was nicer.

Family members who arrived late and were booked into the motor lodge rooms told us the rooms were pleasant and not bad at all. I never saw those rooms myself.

The temperature in our room was easily controlled. No severe ups and downs to contend with. The room was fairly quiet. Two noisy children were in the room next to us for a day or two. These children were creating noise above the normal, speaking level.

We utilized shuttle services to return to the Allegiant Gate for the return home. Our experience there was unpleasant due to failure of the labeling equipment for luggage and employees who didn't know how to fix the machine. We spent a long wait while others around us checked in quickly and easily.

The flight home was quieter. Everyone seemed to be resting and recovering from time in Vegas. Our arrival was right on time. Crew members were friendly and courteous. Some of them are assigned to the Vegas flight all the time.

At the time of our trip, Allegiant did not fly on Thursdays. This caused us to return home a day or two sooner than we'd originally planned but worked out well.

Our stay at Circus Circus was both fun and pleasant. We do plan to return via Allegiant. We're also considering trips to Allegiant's other destinations. I subscribed to Allegiant's email alert service and some of their flight specials have been as cheap as $49 round trip. Allegiant's airfare and lodging combination packages are available for a wide range of hotels and do sell out quickly.

This airline will kill you with baggage fees. And they will charge twice and then deny. I can prove I paid for my son's baggage online and then the gate agent had no record of it when he checked in and forced him to pay again. When I caught what had happened I called the only number available and the agent stated that he would not have to pay on his return flight as there was a credit on his itinerary.....what do you think happened.....the gate agent on the return flight stated that his bags had not been paid for of course!.....He paid again! So now Allegiant owes me/my son $70....I sent an email as that's the only recourse the consumer has and of course got NO response.....So the consumer has no recourse but to wait for them to reply....CANNOT speak to a manager.....My advise to you is DO NOT spend your money here! They are a SHADY company,....this coming from someone who travels extensively for work and flies ALL airlines....Never have I been treated like this......

I am glad to read of your good experience! We just flew Allegiant to Orlando and had a good experience overall, with some down-sides (I just wrote an article about them!).
Thanks for writing this; I enjoyed reading it.
