Allen Iverson Can Make Up to $2 Million Playing in Turkey This Season

Allen Iverson, another great player who can go down in history without a ring, claims he still has a lot of basketball left in him. But much to his disappointment, there were no NBA teams will to buy what he was selling after his controversial exits with his last three franchises, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies and thePhiladelphia 76'ers.

So with the NBA season starting Tuesday, Oct 26, what do you do when you love the game and just want to play and can't find a job in the NBA. Can anyone say Istanbul, Turkey?

Yes that's right, you heard me right, Turkey. A.I., who averaged 26.7 points in his 14-year NBA career has agreed in principle to sign an incentive-laden, two-year, $4 million contract with Besiktas of the Turkish professional league. Source say, the 35-year-old, All Star, Guard, plans to sign the contract this week, and is expected to report to Beşiktaş Cola Turka, the week of Oct. 31.

Any chance in seeing Iverson back in the NBA for the 2010-2011 season. Not if he signs this contract. While Iverson, does have an opt-out clause after this season. There is absolutely no escape clause during the season for Iverson to leave Turkey and return to the NBA.

Ok you are asking who the Besiktas Cola Turka is. They are considered third among the most powerful franchises in the Turkish first division. The club has a strong following, and team officials believe, one of America's best little men with a huge heart, Iverson could be an immense gate draw.
