Brewers Yeast is a type of fungus called Saccharoymyces cerevisiae. It is from the Saccharomysetaceae family. It is yeast used for brewing, and it is made of grains and hops. It is high in chromium. It has plenty of minerals, vitamins, and protein in it. It can be used as a capsule, powder, or tablet. It is also is a bitter tasting ingredient used in beer and other alcohol beverages. Brewers Yeast is made by the brewing companies.

People who are allergic to Brewers Yeast are usually allergic to alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine which has Brewers Yeast in it. They can also be allergic to some vitamin B supplements which have Brewers Yeast in it. People with diabetes should also watch out for Brewers Yeast because the chromium in it can effect the medications that diabetics use to maintain their sugar levels. If they do not, they could get hypoglycemia which is a bad reaction to having low blood sugar. People who are allergic to it should avoid it. The following are allergy symptoms of Brewers Yeast:

Migraines

The most common allergic reaction to Brewers Yeast is to have a migraine headache. Usually these migraines are pretty severe. If a person gets a migraine they should lay down in a dark room. They could try putting a cool washcloth on their head to help with their migraine.

Stomach Issues

Another common Brewers Yeast allergy symptom is for a person to have stomach issues. A person can feel gassy. They could feel bloating of their stomach. Sometimes they can even feel nausea. The most serious stomach issue to watch out for is diarrhea.

Feeling Tired

A good way to know that a person might be allergic to Brewers Yeast is that they get very tired. The high levels of chromium can make a person very tired if they are allergic to Brewers Yeast. If a person is feeling tired, they might try wanting to do something active so they can get some of their energy back. They might also want to try drinking a glass of orange juice to get their blood sugars back to normal.

Skin Irritation

Sometimes a person who is allergic to Brewers Yeast might feel their skin getting itchy. They might even get something like hives which are red itchy spots on a person's body. This is normal if you have an food allergy. It is nothing to normally worry about. Feel free to put anti-itch medication on it to help with the itching.

Throat Irritation

Throat irritation is kind of on the rare side of having Brewers Yeast allergy symptoms. There is a slight chance though that a person's throat could irritate them by being scratchy or dry. If it is worse than that though, and a person feels like they are struggling to breathe because it feels like their throat is closing up on them then call 911 immediately. That is extremely rare though, and probably will not happen with normal Brewers Yeast allergy symptoms.
