Alli Side Effects: Drug Causes Loss of Both Weight and Bowel Control

Stephanie Manning
Alli, the new FDA-approved diet drug, has taken dieters by surprise. Alli actually seems to be the new trend as more Americans begin to lose weight while using the new drug. As with any diet, diet pills, shakes or anything even remotely connected with diets, there are side effects. However, Alli claims that their product doesn't have side effects, only "treatment effects." I recently started taking Alli and must say that the program does work. You will lose weight with Alli, however, weight is not the only thing you will lose!

One of Alli's main, somewhat embarrassing side effects is the loss of bowel control. While taking Alli I experienced horrible stomach pains that usually had me in tears. You know, 'toilet tremors', the kind of stomach pains that make you break out in sweats, turns white, clinch the steering wheel, press firmly on the gas pedal and pray that the restroom at the Citgo was not occupied. Yes, those kind of stomach pains!

In addition to horrible stomach pains, Alli's side effects continued with what usually come along with severe stomach pains. Sudden urges to go the the bathroom, severe gas (in which some people have claimed extremely gross issues such as oily discharge), diarrhea, and the inability to eat anything greasy. I knew that if I so much as tasted something greasy, that I would soon be facing toilet tremors all over again. It was horrible.

While on Alli, I didn't have much of a social life. I stayed at home unless as was at work. Even while at work, I refused to do any strenuous activities do to the fear of having an 'accident'. After a few days of taking Alli, I got a little worried with these side effects and did some research on the Internet. That's when I found out that pretty much everyone who had ever taken Alli had also experienced these side effects, and that most people weren't aware of them because again, they were referred to as side effects. Only treatment effects.

While I did lose 18 pounds with Alli in a few short weeks, I would not recommend anyone use it for a few vanity pounds. Simply cutting calories is a better option than having to buy new underwear every week!
