Allied Animal Hospital in Richmond, Virginia Offers Top-Notch Care for Pets

Quality Health Care for Your Pets

Mary Moss
The mission of Allied Animal Hospital at 7209 W. Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia is to "fulfill the needs of their clients by providing quality health services through a responsive, professional staff with emphasis on individual attention and commitment to community service." A small animal hospital since 1964, this is a veterinarian office our dog actually looks forward to visiting.

Allied Animal Hospital, owned and operated by Dr. A. M. Dufour, embraces the belief that our pets are important and part of our families. The staff is friendly, efficient and takes extra time to do the "little things" that let you know your pet will be well-cared for whether they are there for grooming, boarding, or for surgery or other need.

Don't be surprised to find cookies and lemonade for the "human" members of your family. A television is mounted in the waiting area and the staff were personable and engaging while we waited for our beloved four-legged family member to be examined for a serious condition.

Our most recent experience with Allied Animal Hospital involved our dog requiring a rather serious surgery.
One of our concerns, of course, was the cost of all the pre-op treatment, surgery, follow-up and recovery treatment. We received an itemized estimate in advance for every service and were given the option to pick and choose which services and treatments we felt we could afford.

We were offered options and assured that whatever decision we made would be respected. While we have spent quite a bit of money on our Gracie, we have felt that it has been well-spent. The surgeon who performed the surgery was skillful and also considerate and gentle in presenting us with her findings.

The quality and level of care Gracie received while she spent some days at Allied after the surgery when none of our family members was available to monitor her during the day was so nice, we think she may have decided she'd rather spend her time at Allied! She has, after all, received lots of hugs, personal attention, special treats and lots of T.L.C. Gracie's recovery will be a long one, but we know we can rely upon her "second family" at Allied to support us and provide advice and reassurance along the way.

Allied Animal Hospital also offers a full-range of services for families with pets, including boarding, grooming, bathing, vaccinations, tattooing, micro-chipping, radiology, day care, dental care and and spaying and neutering. Click HERE to see some of the great staff in action!
