This year I have been helping her make the Christmas gift baskets to sell at Christmas bazaars around our small town. I had so much fun in helping her by different items and coordinating them to go together in a Christmas gift basket. I watched her prepare a potato chip Christmas gift baskets and I thought man I sure would love that one!
First, she got this huge wicker basket, that would double as a small laundry basket when empty and filled it with assorted sizes and flavors of potato chips, it was a snack lovers dream. She added in chips clips, coupons for assorted dips as well as Lipton onion soup mix, which can easily be added to sour cream, and it makes a wonderful potato chip dip.
With a jar of salsa, she put the whole basket in some plastic wrap and tied a bow upon it and it was finished.
There was a coffee basket, with different creamers, sugar packets, and different types of coffee in it. She finished this basket off with coffee mugs with a rooster on each one, dishtowels with roosters as well. The sugar bowl and creamer container she added also had the rooster theme on them. This basket is perfect for a person who drinks coffee and has a country kitchen.
A chocolate gift basket she made had assorted chocolate candy in it, and all sorts of chocolate. There was a large can of hot chocolate, as well as those little individual packages of specialty hot chocolate mixes by land o lakes. She added some mugs for the hot chocolate, many of the little Debbie snacks and it all looked so nice in this basket.
You can create many of your own gift baskets all you need is a theme to work with and the cash to buy the items. The trick is to get the items, and once you have all of them then you get a basket in which all the items will fit. I am going to share some ideas now that mom gave me as I was helping her, that day not to long ago.
How about a bath basket filled with items that you would use in the bathroom, this could be very handy. Purchase items such as shampoo, conditioners, soaps, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. With the items you could also purchase, shaving cream, combs, razors along with a bath towel or two, put it, all in a basket and you have the perfect gift for any occasion.
For the person who is just moving into their own home or apartment why not a house-warming basket filled with thing for their new home? Head to the dollar store and purchase items such as spices, thumbtacks, small household tools such as a hammer and screwdriver set. Add in candles, light bulbs, air fresheners, and other little items like dish soap, cleanser and scrub pads. These little items would be appreciated by many people how are just moving into a new home and all those little items would come in handy.
Gift baskets are easy to make and because you can make them so personalized, they always make the best gifts for any occasion.
